HAPPY NEW YEAR! *kisses the nearest chocolate cake*
Hope all your new years were fantastic!
Sorry I didn't update immediately after the 50 votes D: (plz don't hate me)
But to make up for it, here's an extra long chapter! YAY!
********************************************
"Get your fucking hands off of her!" Aiden growls as he stalks towards Damien and I, his eyes glowing impossibly brighter, yet darker at the same time.
I quickly stand up from my position to stand in between Damien and the furious Aiden.
"Aiden calm down, it's not-"
"Not what it looks like?" Aiden lets out a short, sarcastic laugh before glaring back down at me, walking until we're chest to chest.
"Move, Andy." He demands lowly.
I stand my ground.
"No, not until you calm down. Damien hasn't done anythi-"
"Oh, so now you're on first name basis, huh? You just fucking met him, yet you're both already 'buddies'?"
He tries to move forward but I press my hands against his chest and push him back as hard as I can, so in other words, not very hard, but he did take a few steps back.
"I didn't just meet him, you jackass! Maybe if you stopped being so damn jealous and over protective for one second and actually listen to what I have to say, you'd know that the only problem that's being made right now is because of you!"
I cross my arms over my chest as I glare at him, watching his eyes darken slightly.
"Then explain." He crosses his arms over his chest.
By the way did I mention he's shirtless? Asshole is probably trying to distract me. It's kinda working...
Focus!
I take a deep breath trying to control my anger and awkwardness, still not really over all these raging emotions.
"Aiden, meet Damien, my childhood best friend who I thought had been murdered when I found him in the forest when I was thirteen but my mum actually found him and saved him so now he's a part of her pack and this is the first time we've seen each other in 6 years." I gasp in a breath as I reach the end of the sentence.
Sure, I could have said it more elegantly and taken more breaths, but what's the fun in that?
Also, who knows when Aiden might snap, so better get everything out all at once!
I watch as his eyebrows furrow together, obviously trying to process the jumble of words that just fell from my mouth.
"Aiden, she's telling the truth," my mum walks over to Aiden, talking softly but firmly.
"She only just found out who he really was tonight, and only just discovered the reason why she hasn't seen him for all these years. It's a lot for her to take in, and will be a lot for you as well, but you must learn to accept it."
I high five my mum in my mind. How does she handle these things so calmly and effectively? Show off.
"That doesn't mean they have to be so close to each other." Aiden growls out taking a step toward where Damien is still sitting, me still trying to stand between them.
"I apologise," Damien speaks from behind me, but I don't dare to take my eyes off of Aiden.
"I didn't realise she had a mate. If I did, I would have sat a little further away."
