Chapter 41

•• Asuna's Pov ••

"The food looks delicious but there is just one thing that is wrong with your cooking..." Father said looking at his food and took a bite. 'Poison?!' I looked over to Francis and saw that he held panic but kept his composure. I smirk to myself getting excited of what the out come of this situation. 'Aries does he know that we are vampires?' I asked. I looked over to Aries for an answer he shook his head with a grin on his face.

I clapped my hand mentally and sat on my chair comfortably. "More salt." Father said finally after a long paused. He grabbed the salt and put some in his food. I heard a quiet sigh come from Francis mouth, i face palm mentally and came to realisation that we vampire can't get poisoned. With that being said i am back to my irritated self and started to eat. Everyone did the same and started to eat the poisonous food. Stabbing the food with my fork i looked over to Francis and read his mind.

"Why aren't they falling on the floor to their death?!" He screamed in his head.   "Hey Asun-" Zero tried to say a word but i stabbed my food with a bang causing it to make a loud noise cutting him off. Everyone stopped to look at me and an awkward silence filled the room. I looked up from my food and said with a smile "isn't the food lovely?" And slowly the chatter began once again.

•• Zero's Pov ••

What is with this food? It tastes good but at the same time it's bitter. Could the food be poisoned? I didn't care so i just kept eating anyways. I hear a loud bang beside me and finally I remembered that i wanted to clear this up with Asuna. I placed my hand beside me and spoke up "hey Asun-" but i was soon cut off as the bang got louder. I'm surprised that it didn't crack yet. I hate this so much she is so angry at me, the feelings that are emitting from her is so angry.

I sighed and stood up saying thank you very quietly and walked out the door to get some fresh air. I hear tapping of heels behind me, a tiny smile appeared on my lips that thinking it might be Asuna following behind. I stopped and the tapping of heels stopped along with me, i turned slowly and saw it was the maid. Disappointment washed away the tiniest smile on my lips to see it was the maid. I sighed and continued on to reached the exit door and walked to the scenery balcony. Like what a personal maid does she continued to follow behind me. I sighed and turn around putting my hand in my pocket and lean on the railing of the balcony. "What is your name?" I asked. She nervously played with her fingers and said quietly "m-my name is u-um it's..." She slowly came to my ear and whispered "Ruri Toka." Is she somehow related to Kaito? But it might be just the same last name.

She then skipped away to her same position, "are you someho- never mind. Why do you have to follow me all the time? Why did you do that?" I asked while turning back around to admire the view. Resting my chin on the railing, I sighed in anger. She kept quiet for a second but then she started to walk towards me. I was expecting her to stand next to me but hey i was wrong.

I felt her wrap her arms around me and hugged me from behind, "hey Zero-sama do you have a crush on the Shio's princess?" I hear her whisper to my ear but her tone and action was completely different. "W-what are you d-doing? Get off me." I struggled to get out of her grip but the more I struggled the persistent she get. "I like the first prince but I don't have a chance. You probably don't have a chance either since the princess is going to have to marry one of the three prince." She continued to say. I turned around to face her.

'She likes the first prince? What is happening?' I said in my head confused. It hit me that she said i don't have a chance being with Asuna, but you know what I don't care. "You clearly know that she doesn't have feelings for you right?" She said her voice soft and sweet. She pulled me close to her till we were face to face. This girl is not the same as the one that i met, i tried to push her away but she is sticking to me like a licht. "Just be mine and let's run away together, we're both broken-hearted aren't we?" She continued her tone seductive. She rested her head on my chest getting to familiar with me, i feel anger and annoyance started to arise from me.
