Hey guys, I've been promising this rewrite for a while. I've planned this story out again meticulously, which should have been done in the first place. The characters are generally the same, but if you read the first copy, you will notice that Aimee is very much different. I noticed while I was re-reading the first draft that Aimee was a character that was hard to connect with, which completely failed my goal and point of this story.
Oh, and also all of the main characters were planned to be some sort of asian. But that's boring. So my cast is different this time around. :)
Anyway enough of my babbling! Enjoy!

Prologue
Aimee’s POV
I hurried along the busy subway, my hands immediately diving into my pocket, searching for my Ipod; to block out the stupid chattering of these people. Why couldn’t they shut up? There was absolutely no need to be so cheerful so damn early in the morning. I had never, and probably never will understand the need people feel to fill in every silence. Mindless chattering, I thought to myself with a sneer on my face.
Someone bumped shoulders with me, and I instantly looked up with a fierce glare imprinted on my face. A middle-aged man in a business suit. He gave me an indifferent look, walking away without an apology. Whatever. It was better than an empty ‘sorry’.
I waited on the west side platform of the subway quietly; observing the masses of body hurrying to the stairs to catch the bus. I was still wondering whether I’d miss the monotony and familiarity of this city. When my parents had announced that we were moving, I had been almost upset. Almost. While this city was full of annoying ignorant people, I had a chance at a future here. A future where I didn’t have to rely on anyone and where I’d be free.
I snorted at the thought. I was starting to sound like those cheesy Mary Sue protagonists in the teen novels these days. I tried to imagine myself in one of those books, and shook my head.
Anyway, apparently my dad had found himself a job as a dental assistant in this town called ‘Changeling’. Not that I’ve ever heard of it. What kind of name was Changeling anyway? We were moving there today, and my stupid parents told me that I had to take the stupid subway and bus to get there, because there wasn’t enough room in our stupid van because of my stupid sisters. My lips immediately frowned at the thought.
I finally stood up from my place, leaning against the wall, as I heard an announcement of the train arriving. I took off my ear buds, staring blankly across at the dirty wall. They really did need to clean this place.
Suddenly, a figure stepped in front of that dirty piece of wall. Brown. Brown eyes glanced back at me. I stared back unwaveringly. Why the hell was this weirdo looking at me? Why was I staring back? The idiot’s face was partially shadowed by a pillar, and he suddenly smirked slightly. I glared back. I didn’t pay attention to the train noisily arriving at the platform. I stepped forward a bit, before stumbling back when the noise I had been blocking out suddenly pitched back into my ears.
The light hit my face suddenly, causing me to avert my eyes. I stepped through the open doors calmly, looking across to the other platform.
A dirty piece of wall.
No brown eyes.
