Cowboy's p.o.v.

It's been two long weeks after the attack on Quatmenia base its 03:00 sharp ( 11:00 a.m. if you don't know military time). "Sgt. Ruiz, General Velasco needs to talk to you in the office," I yelled. "I'm coming," he replied. "Good luck sir,"i antagonized. He shot me that look the one tells you shut up, but in a more playful manner. I walked out of the room and went on my way. I had this off feeling that day i knew something was up I just couldn't figure out what. I turned down the series of hallways leading down the corridor. I had memorized this base pretty well after living in it for two weeks. I went into the cafeteria area grabbed some breakfast drink some coffee and went on my way. I went outside to get some air when I saw two bombers go over head. I knew they didn't look like any American bombers and thats when things went crazy. Suddenly the attack alarms rang through the base AA guns started firing and everything went to hell. The runway was erupting with taking off planes and then the bombs started hitting the ground. Boom, the whole earth shook at every bomb that touched the ground. I knew there was a problem when paratroopers started descending down from the sky. Before I knew it shaw and Ruiz were behind me ready to defend the base. Quickly I went into action shooting at anything I knew wasn't an Allie. More bombers went by but the AA gun took care of that pretty fast. I turned and ran to the nearest cover ( couple of sand bags) and got on my stomach. It want long until enemy vehicles were invading. The few men with explosives we did have tried their hardest to take them out, but it was too much. We were pinned down and had now escape. Finally our planes we did happen to get into the air were supporting, yet there was no way the could hit them with explosives because it could result in friendly fire. Soon though they were gone and we were safe once again. We had defended the base and that's what counted most of all. We were a team and that could not be changed, no matter what... Or could it?
