I sat down and listen to Luke introducing us to the small group of people. I smiled and waved, saying a small hello as everyone went back to what they were doing before. Before I could take another sip of my beer, I felt a pair of lips brush against my ear and whisper, "Ready for an amazing first night beautiful?"
I stiffened a bit, keeping my face relaxed when I noticed whose voice it was and kept my face forward, watching Cayden and Calum. "Define your definition of amazing" He laughed, feeling his gaze on me I heard him hum to himself and ruffle his hair. "My definition? Oh princess, It'd involve you and me having a little private time to get to know each other" turning my head to look at him, having an unimpressed look on my face "Don't call me princess." I snapped a bit, knowing I sounded bitchy but I can't help it, I hate that name.
Blinking a bit, clearly taken back by my reply and nodded softly, looking at me he asked. "I'm sorry, Is there any other name you don't like to be called?" I couldn't help but smile, most guys when hitting on you don't ask what name you like or don't. It's always 'princess' or 'baby girl', don't get me wrong I love baby girl when it's needed, just not two minutes into meeting someone. "I don't like babe. It's basic and not special, you can call anyone babe. If you call me fire crotch, I will punch you in the throat"
He laughed and nodded biting his lip, probably thinking the same thing everyone else does 'does the carpets match the drapes?' I mean I understand the curiosity, fuck I even wonder it when I see another redhead but I don't ask if. "What about little red?" I raised an eyebrow thinking on the name for a moment and shrugged "That's fine" I replied nodding and taking another sip of my beer and looking at the fire again.
I could hear him shift a bit in his chair, leaning back a bit more as he looked up at the sky. I glance over at Cayden and wonder why she's so annoyed by Ashton, did he do something to her or say something? I mean he seems full of himself but shit, I am too so I don't see the harm in that. Maybe he's a player and just sleeps around? Hell that doesn't bother me either, I've done my fair share of just meaningless sex before, hasn't everybody at a point?
Scanning my eyes around the fire I start to notice the type of people these guys are. Michael and Luke are laughing and strumming some beaten up guitars, helping each other with certain chords. Calum has Cayden in his lap, hugging her waist so she's close to him and looking up at her as she talks. Maybe I was too harsh to judge him at first, he seems genuinely interested in her and I haven't seen anyone look at her that way. Smiling at them, I get up and run a hand through my hair, pushing it out of my face and walk over more by the lake.
Crossing my arms over my chest, closing my eyes and listening to the water move and the sounds of the party behind me, I relax. "You know, the lakes more fun if you actually get in it, little red.." I can hear the smirk in voice, opening my eyes and turning my head back seeing ashton a little bit behind me with his hands in his pockets. He's wearing some god ugly yellow swim trunks that have little Hawaiian flowers on them in green and a long sleeve white shirt on. I hate to admit it but the guy is breath taking.
"I'm not getting in, didn't bring bathing suites with me." I shrug acting as if it was an accident. I'm not a bathing suite type of girl, I'm on the thicker size and curvy so most bathing suites don't look right on me, plus they just make me feel like shit. "You didn't pack bathing suites for a summer camp job?" Laughing, Ashton walks closer to me and glances down at me raising an eyebrow "Don't like the water?" rolling my eyes and laughing a bit "I love the water, I'm just not a fan of swimming" I shrug and hum softly.
"Walk with me" I look up at him and give him a smile, genuinely wanting to know more about this boy. I can tell by the way his eyes light up he's more than happy to come with me. We walk down the length of the lake, heading towards the woods behind the arts and crafts cabin. "How long have you worked here?" I ask, sitting down on one of the little benches crossing my legs, watching him straddle the bench and sit so he's facing me.
"Three years, I went here when I was 5. Mikes family owns this place and that's how I met the boys. We just decided as we got older to continue helping out Mikes family with the place and working here gets my founder siblings in for free" He smiled as he spoke, becoming clear he cared for this camp and the people in it, I couldn't help but wonder what Cayden had against this guy. "That's really sweet of you" I replied nodding and looking down at my nails. "What about you?"
I laughed and shrugged "Honestly? Cayden dragged me along with her. She told me I could be of good use around here with the Arts and I could use some practicing with small humans" "small humans? You mean children?" Laughing I nodded and looked at him again "Same thing isn't it?" he just shook his head and smiled a bit "I'm taking it you aren't too fond of children then" "I wouldn't say that.. just, I don't want any of my own, you know?" he nodded and leaned back on his hands, watching me.
We just sat there like that for a few moments, sitting in a comfortable silence just looking at each other. I pushed my glasses up a bit more on my nose and extended my hand out a bit, touching his thigh lightly, playing with his trunks "You know these colors look awful together, right?" I looked up at him, seeing he was just watching my hand with a relaxed expression "You know you have small ass hands, right?" I rolled my eyes and hit his thigh lightly pulling away, smiling at his reply "Oh little red, it's a good thing.. Just means I'd look even bigger in your hands"
