Erik Winters couldn't get the thoughts about his maid out of his mind. It felt like she was constantly playing with his time as well as his feelings, even though she, herself was innocent in all this. She didn't behave as if she had any sort of attraction towards him and has kept herself out of his life as much as it was possible for her to do. Then why should it disturb him too much? Her not showing any interest in him or his life or money was a good thing, but strangely it didn't do anything to ease his dilemma.

The urge to look at her, to keep looking at her has become a normal thing these days. The need to touch her and to kiss her has become unbearable. Whenever she was near him, her nearness made his heart to beat faster and even her presence in the house was making him restless. He felt attracted towards her and more than once, he found himself going after her to make sure she was fine. All this was happening for the first time with him and he couldn't determine whether it’s a good thing or bad.

Maybe it’s her beauty which was attracting him towards her or she was deliberately playing hard to get, to make sure that he was noticing her. But when his thoughts began to go that way, deep in his heart  he knew that the proud Emily will never stoop that low. She always avoided him and even talked back when he tried to exert his will on her.

Strange! Usually women will fall at his feet to make sure that he notices them and here was Emily who don’t even think twice before talking back.

He couldn't stop the smile forming in his lips when he remembered their first meeting. She was fuming with anger in that restaurant and even though he didn't want her to take that money from the floor, he couldn't curb his curiosity to see how she would react to the situation. She almost asked him to shove it up his ass. He started laughing when he recalled that incident.

He turned around shaking his head and stopped dead in his tracks to find himself face to face with Rebecca, who was looking at him with her brow raised. She put the tray she was carrying on top of his desk and turned to him.

“Since I haven’t seen you this happy after I started working for you, I think I will give you an advice if you don’t mind it.” She said, hesitating a bit.

“You know it very well that you are the only woman whom I’ve ever tolerated in my life. So feel free to speak your mind.” He said and saw her pinning him with an amused expression.

“You look good when you smile Mr. Winters. You should do it more often.” She said as if testing the ground for further talk.

“But that won’t do me any good in the boardroom Rebecca. I've told you a hundred times to call me Erik.” He was watching her, while she slowly went near the windows to look out.

“You can relax that rule when you are home, Erik.” She turned to him “I just want to see you happy and smiling. Forget the past Erik, everyone has one and most of them are bad. Just try to move on from it.”

When he remained silent she sighed and said. “I must go now. Should take Em back home or Levin will start nagging me.” She said and he didn't miss the worry that flashed through her face even though it was for a second.

“Rebecca, is there something wrong with her life? I haven’t checked her because I left that decision to you and I don’t think that she is a bad choice….but...” He struggled to find the right words because he didn't want to alert her of his feelings.

“You are attracted towards her. Aren't you?” She was looking at him with an I know it all expression and he tried his best not to cringe under her scrutiny.

“No. There is nothing like that. I am just concerned because sometimes she behaves in a strange way.”

“I know. I assure you, she is a good girl but she is a  special one too. Very special and one will have to deal with the special people in a different way. Consider Em as someone like that.”
