When I woke up the next morning, it was only 7 am. I wanted to close my eyes and fall asleep and wake up late. Maybe the day could go by fast and I could be ok to leave. I stared at the clock. I stared at my phone. I stared outside. Maybe Nick was looking at the bright and shining sun like I was. Maybe he wasn't too far away. He didn't answer any of my calls. He didn't even respond to my texts. I wish he could understand I don't blame him for anything. None of this is his fault. How am I ever going to catch him? At about 8:30, my mom came to visit me. I was excited because I was leaving in 30 minutes. She came inside with my coat and some take out food.
"Thanks mom." I said smiling. The nurses came in and helped me out of bed, and started cleaning up the room a little bit.
"You should be careful out there." The nurse said.
"I will from now on." I said. She nodded her head wishing me a good life. She said she hoped she didn't see me here again. We walked out the front doors and got in the car. I was expecting my dad to be waiting but he wasn't. So I sat in the front seat.
"Where's dad?" I asked buckling in.
"He had to work late."
"Or did he just not want to come?"
"I'm not sure. That's what he told me on the phone." She said. Great. Now my mistake is making my parents fight. I sighed and rolled down the window. I opened up the bag of food and started eating the burger.
"Thanks again mom. It really means a lot."
"Just promise me, you will tell me soon."
"I promise you."
"Good. Now, when you get back, if your dad is there, just give him a hug. Don't mention seeing Nick or anything. It will just piss him off more."
"Alright." I just didn't understand why my mom was so ok with this. I mean, I was with Nick when I got hurt. But, she must trust me enough to know that it wasn't my fault. When we got home, my dad wasn't home. He must've really worked late. I walked in my house. Breathing in the air that I missed. Ahh this felt so nice. I missed my home. As much as I'll be here from now on, I still missed it.
"You're gonna be out of school for a few weeks. I'm thinking of hiring a tutor sooner or later."
"Ok. How many weeks?"
"4-5 the doctor said."
"Oh...well ok."
"I'm going to bed." She came and gave me a hug and kiss. She turned and went to her bedroom. I opened the front door and got in the car. I was going to see Nick, whether I was supposed to or not.

On my way there, I kept telling myself that everything was going to be ok. And that I was a good kid and everything. Which I was. But, I still felt guilty. I pulled into Nicks driveway and had butterflies. I was so happy to see him. I walked up the familiar house and knocked on the door. No answer. I knocked again. No answer. I figured he would do this. I bet he's standing there. I started crying and got in the car racing home. Scared my mom was awake. I can't believe he did this to me.

Nicks Pov:
"Haven't you heard the door?." My dad said from the speaker.
"No?" I said putting away my laptop.
I didn't even hear it.
"We'll get your ass up and answer! They've knocked only about 100 times." I walked down the stairs and looked out the door. Nobody. Stupid.
"You're hearing things." I said to my dad.
"I know that door was getting knocked on." I rolled my eyes and got in bed.
