What if (Chapter 6)

 Chapter 6

When I got home, I was never this excited to talk to my mom, ever. All I know is, I want to ask her something. It will be very awkward at first cause you know, I never really talk to my mom, well except maybe when I did something bad at school and she was being called by the principal's office and i kinda feel I need to explain myself to her. That's the only conversation we have, other than that, she always do most of the talking.

"Hey mom?"

"Yes Johnny?"

"Don't laugh ok? But when do you know you like someone, you know, like, you really like like someone."

"You're in love honey? Well as in for real this time?"

"I don't know, I just sing a lot with this girl, and she calm's me down you known, without her knowing. Feel like something has changed. I don't know"

"Son, I’ve been waiting for this talk for so long. Thank you for finally looking at me as your mom, not a typical mother who's just gives your allowance and cooks your food. I don't know that girl yet but I know she did something to my son, something good. And that is already enough for you to know you are in love."

"What do you mean mom?"

"There are special people that can influence us. Even without them trying. You being influenced to do badly are something easy, cause you know, negatives around us are easy to achieve. But if someone's finally influence you to do better, change you in a positive way, that someone is sure very special on your heart. Cause it takes a very special someone to change your life forever. Johnny you've change, you smile more, you’re not hot headed anymore, I just can see peace on your face. And I’m telling you, cause no one knows their children like a mother, I just know my son is inlove"

Wow, Mom's words hit me with every sentence, like she deciphers all the things I can't understand. And now I’m sure. I love Ana. I want her in my life. 

I went upstairs, grab the phone, and called. . .

"Hey Cath?"

"Yes babe? You wanna hang out?"

"Actually Cath, i was kinda thinking, maybe we should end this"

"End what Johnny? Are you breaking up with me?"

"Cath i wish you all the best, I know you care for me, but I’m being unfair now, I like someone, I don't want to be unfair with you anymore. I’m sorry Cath"

I know Cathlin still wants to talk on the other line, but I hung up. I can’t handle much more of the talking I guess. I don’t really like the feeling of breaking up with someone. I don’t like to hurt Cath. But I like someone else now. I don’t want to lie to myself or to her. It’s for the better I guess. I just can't wait to see Ana tomorrow and ask her out on a date.

At school. . .

"Hey Johnny!" I heard Ana's voice at my back. When I turn around. . . 

"Do you like me?"

"Ana wait. . . who told you that"

"Nobody, i kinda assume that cause your girlfriend smack the devil out of me and shouting, making a scene saying I stole you from her!"

Without any thoughts, I grab Ana and went at the cafeteria where Cathlin was

"So. . . the little boyfriend stealer told you what happen Johnny, huh?"

"You listen Cathlin, listen very carefully, and everyone here in the cafeteria, I broke up with Cathlin here cause of Ana".  I swear, the reaction of almost half of the student body was shock including Ana who let go of my hand.

"Yes Ana, I like you. You change something in me and I just can't do anything about it. You’re the one I want to be with. For the rest of my high school, or maybe until college, or until we grow old together, I don't know how long, but now, I just want to be with you"

"Oh Johnny." Ana just cried and hug me.
