What if (Chapter 7)

Chapter 7

After the big scene at the cafeteria, everything was clear between me and Ana now. We auditioned for the drama club, like we practice, she pianos while I sing. Well Ana thought I was singing for the judges, but truth is, I was just singing to her.  And Ana met my mom; I can see mom really likes her

"Just like I imagine you Ana, You very pretty and simple."

"Well thanks Mrs. Smith"

"She is pretty mom, I told you"

"Wow, I never thought you and your mom are very close Johnny?"

"We're not, we just become close because of you Ana, and for that, thank you so much" mom said then hug Ana, I can see on Ana's face she really confuse

"Cause you know why baby, I and mom finally talked, not our usual talked before that we're just fighting, we finally talked like a normal kid talking to his mom kinda thing"

"Well Mrs. Smith, I’m glad I can help" 

Then I, Ana, and mom had our lunch. All three of us. That was my happiest since we moved here in Chicago. After the divorce between mom and dad.  It was like a montage, all I can remember was the random laughing between all three of us, and my favorite, moments just to stare at Ana. I was really happy. I’m happy I’m with her.

Then I realized, all this time, I was the only one happy. I know Ana's happy, but I didn't do anything for her. Nothing yet.. .

One afternoon, I went to Ana's house, i didn't tell. I just want to surprise her.

"Oh you must be Johnny?"

"You must be Ana's mom?"

Mrs. Seimore was brunet, maybe the blonde hair Ana has is from his dad. But I immediately noticed the similarities between the both of them.   

"Yes, pls come in Johnny, I make you some tea. You didn't tell Ana your coming didn't you?"

"Uhm yes Mrs. Seimore, why? She's not her?"

"Sorry to tell you Johnny, but yes. She went baby sitting with our neighbor, maybe she'll be back around 7" But it’s just 4 in the afternoon. Great, Nice surprise Johnny

"May I ask Mrs. Seimore, why is Ana babysitting?"

"She didn't tell you Johnny? Well she's saving money to come visit his dad at New York for the weekends, Ana has always been very close to her dad, i want to give her money but she insisted she will work for it"

Oh that's it. I want to do something for Ana. And this is the golden opportunity. I'll drive her all the way to New York to see her dad. Plus, I can meet her dad too.

I called Ana right away. . .

"Baby?"

"Hey Johnny? I’m baby sitting right now, where are you? I was calling you all day though"

"I was not answering cause I was hoping I can surprise you today, but I guess I can still surprise you after all, just promise me to clear your schedule this weekend ok? No more babysitting, I got your back"

"What? what are talking about babe?"

"I love you Ana! Bye"

Saturday

"You serious?"

"Yes baby! We're going to New York to see your dad!"

"Oh my gosh! I did you even know that! Thank you so much baby!"

"I got a little tip from your mom" 

"Thanks Mom"

After a long drive, hundreds of pictures of me and Ana while on the road, we finally reached New York. We were just about time for dinner. Ana's dad cooked for us while the three of us talk. I can see my girl very happy, and I’m happy for her. I know how much she misses her dad. And I kinda feel I’m doing a good job as her boyfriend for what I did today.

"Hey pumpkin, daddy just got a job here in NYC, you can visit me anytime you want, I mean you and your boyfriend here can visit me anytime you want, is that ok with you Johnny?"

"Yes sir, as long as Ana's happy"

"Well right now I’m happy cause I’m surrounded by my two favorite man here"

"By the way, what are your plans for college Ana? It’s just a matter of months before you guys graduate, you wanna study here at NYC with me? Of course you need to get a scholarship missy"

Wow that hits me, college. What will happen between me and Ana after high school? We are not talking about it yet but now her dad brought it up. What do really happen after all of these?

We decided to have a little date around NYC before we hit the road again back to Chicago. It was like a montage, we were just walking, non stop laughing, pictures, and my favorite, just staring at my girl's face. While walking, we heard music playing by a man on saxophone, and I just grab Ana's hand and we slow dance, like the very first time we slow dance back at school.

"Remember our first dance?"

"Yes Johnny, I will never forgot, that the moment i knew I had a crush on you"

"Well me too, the first I laid my eyes on yours, I feel peace." Then I just stare at Ana's face. Remembering all the good times we had and wondering if we still have more time together.

"I wish the time would stop."

"Why do you wish that Johnny?"

"I don't want to be away from you, what will happen after high school Ana?"

"I don't know Johnny, but I don't want to be away from you. Your arms is my safest place in the world, this is my home, your my home Johnny, I don't want to be away from home anymore" And Ana hugged me like she never hugged me before.

Now I don't want to think anymore. I don't want to ruin this perfect moment with her by worrying about the future. I love Ana and she loves me. That all it matters.
