When Lilly got home, she expected a lecture on how irresponsible she was for coming home extremely late but it was silent as she entered the house. She knew she saw her parents car parked in the driveway so where could they be?

She set her bag down on her couch walking into the kitchen to get something to drink. Yesterday was a long day and she was just glad she didn't have to repeat that again. Lilly placed her cup in the sink after finishing her water, still not seeing any trace of her parents. Where could they be? She walked towards the dinning room, starting to hear voices as she got closer.

They were just probably talking about work like they usually did. Lilly began to walk back until she heard his voice. Immediately she ran to the room and stopped in her tracks.

She couldn't believe her eyes. Michael was sitting down with her mother laughing about something.

"Lilly, so nice of you to join us!" Her mom greeted after taking notice of her presence but Lilly ignored her.

"What is he doing here?" Lilly asked harshly. She was done seeing his face plastered everywhere. She thought she was safe in the one place where she thought he couldn't get her, but she was clearly wrong.

"Lilly! Is that any way to treat our guest?" Her mother snaps turning to Michael to give him a sorry expression.

"Mother we broke up a year ago. He has no reason to be associated with our life."

"I'm really sorry Lilly. I wish things would've worked out. Things still can work out if you're willing to give me a chance", Michael says.

"Shut up!"

"Lilly!"

"No, it's really okay Mrs. Danielle. I have caused Lilly pain and she has every right to be mad at me." Michael says lowering his head.

Lilly knew this was all an act but what she didn't know was why he was doing all this. What was the purpose?

"Oh you poor boy." Her mother comforts Michael grabbing his hand from across the table.

"Where's dad?" Lilly rolls her eyes.

"He's working late. I really think you and Michael should-"

"Forget it. I'm going to Maria's house", she mumbled running upstairs to her room.

Her mother shouted for her but she ignored her closing the door. She couldn't understand why her mother would invite him into there house even after they broke up. Didn't she know that it made her upset and angry? Doesn't she understand boundaries? Why would she do something like that?

Lilly dialed Maria's number letting her know she was coming over. The last thing she needed was to go over there unexpectedly and walk in on her hooking up with some guy.

Since Maria lived a couple blocks down, Lilly didn't bother taking her car. She figured the walk would be good for her to cool down while she made her way over there.

She was right. When she got there, she was calm and collected and also wasn't surprised to see that Maria's parents were gone. They were always working and she barley saw them anymore.

"Hey Ashley." Lilly said as she entered Maria's room.

"Hey Lilly"

Lilly wasn't surprised that Ashely was here. Her and Maria always hanged out without Lilly. It was nothing new.

It was like that before she even dated Michael. God Michael. Lilly didn't understand why her mother would do that. She never understood Lilly and that was why it was easier for Lilly to talk to her dad more than her mother. He was understanding and kind but he was always off at work so she had no one to talk to.
