June grinned as her father placed a small cake in front of her. It was officially her first birthday. Her aunts, uncles, cousins, and some of her dad's friends had come to celebrate.

June looked around to see no one watching her. She looked down at the cake and stuck her finger in the side of it. She popped it into her mouth as a few gasps were heard.

"Uncle Jay, she's eating the cake!", one of her cousins said.

They all turned around and the cake was gone. All that was left of it was what's on June's face and the crumbs on her tray. They all laughed and Jayson took a photo of her on his phone and put it into an album titled 'June's first birthday'.

June laughed and clapped her hands. Jayson's sister took June to the bathroom to get her hands and faced washed while he cleaned up the tray. When June returned, they all went to the living room and opened some presents.

When they finished with presents, Jayson set June down for a nap while the other kids played downstairs and the adults got some adult time. Jayson joined the adults when June was asleep.

"She seems to be a handful.", Jayson's dad stated.

"She actually isn't too bad.", Jayson said, surprising everyone.

"Really?", his brother asked, "My kids are nightmares."

Everybody laughed at the comment.

"She has her mom's personality.", Jayson said.

"Just you wait until she gets into the terrible twos.", his sister smirked, "I had a lot of trouble with the boys."

"I'm not worried about that. I'm worried about her getting a boyfriend when she's older.", Jayson looked over at the door.

"Are you serious? She's only 1, Jayson! You have another seventeen years until she is 18. Everything will be fine!", his aunt assured.

"I'm sorry, Jay. The kids and I have to go pick up Aron from work and then head to the doctor. The kids have an appointment. Bye.", his sister waved to him and left with her three kids.

"Bye, thanks for coming.", Jayson waved.

Soon everybody else left and it was just him and his daughter. His mom had moved back in with his dad the previous week. Jayson looked around and sighed. There was wrapping paper all over the living room, plates on the table from the younger kids, and the garbage stunk.

Jayson sighed and began cleaning up. He finished after an hour and went to bed as it was 8 and he was tired from the day's events. Jayson walked up to his daughter's room to see her awake.

He picked her up and took her to his room where the two of them curled up to one another on the king size bed. Jayson fell asleep. June however didn't want to rest as she already had.

June wiggled her way out of her father's hold and went onto the deck. She climbed up onto a chair and sat down with her Sippy cup in hand and her blanket over her. Soon she fell asleep under the stars.
