Chapter 4-

Sebastians house-

An hour and a half later, Blaine and Sebastian were still wondering where Brittany was. Wheres Brittany? Sebastian asked, checking his phone for the time. I thought you said she was coming.

Maybe-, Blaine started but was cut off when his phone rang. It was his mom. Mom? Why are you calling me?

Blaine, Im afraid I have some bad news, Blaines mom said through the phone in a very serious tone.

Sebastian saw Blaines face go pale, like Blaine had just seen a ghost. Um, Blaine started, trying to fight off tears. Brittanys been in an accident. Shes at the hospital. In a coma.

Sebastians jaw drops. He then jumps up, rushes to get his shoes and jacket and right when he opens the door, he remembers Blaine and walks back to the couch to see Blaine leaning back with confused shocked look on his face. Arent you coming? Sebastian asks.

Blaine snaps out of his trance. Yeah, lets go, Blaine says then runs out the open door to his car, without even realizing hes in his socks without shoes, and gets in. Sebastian walks out, locks the house door, and runs to Blaines car and gets in. Blaine and Sebastian speed to the hospital, not even getting pulled over, and sprint into the hospital lobby.

Blaine runs to the front desk. Excuse me do you know what room Brittany S. Pierce is in?

Room 539, 8th floor. But only direct family members are aloud in while the patient is in critical condition, the lady behind the desk says.

Were her brothers, Blaine says pointing to Sebastian.

Alright, the lady says.

Blaine and Sebastian run to the elevator and get in just as it was closing. They press the button for the eighth floor, wait and get off on the eighth floor, and find room 539. They rush in to see Brittany on a big hospital bed with machines all around her, scratches on her face, an oxygen mask over her mouth with a thick blue translucent tube coming from the mask and leading to a pump laying on a bedside cart and a machine, her left arm, neck, right shoulder and both legs were in casts. Blaine and Sebastian just stared at Brittany with her eyes closed. Then Blaine rushed to her right side. He took her hand, all covered in cuts and scratches. Not too bad to where they would leave a scar, but still hard to look at. Blaine just rubbed the back of her hand, to distract himself. Then the doctor walks in. So youre her brothers? he asks looking at his file, then holding out his hand to shake.

Yes, Sebastian says, looking at Blaine. Clearly Blaine wasnt paying attention; too grief struck-en. Sebastian shakes the doctors hand.

Then why doesnt Ms. Pierces file have you on her list of family members or emergency contact? the doctor asks.

Um, Sebastian started, trying to figure out an excuse. A couple years ago, on Christmas break, my brother, Blaine, and I were visiting because we were studying abroad in Canada And we got in a really bad argument. Basically our family sided with Brittany and Blaine sided with me because he felt bad for me and because we were inseparable growing up. So we left. Went to New York. This is the first weve time seen Brittany in two years.

If you were in New York, how did you get here five minutes ago when Ms. Pierce was checked in not two hours ago? the doctor asked suspiciously.

Sebastian had to think for a moment. We were coming back for forgiveness last night. We were nervous to knock on their door last night so we spent the night in our car. Weve camped out of an abandoned bank not too far from their house, working up the courage to walk in and ask for their forgiveness. Then we went to go get drinks. When we walked in the sports bar, we saw her accident on the news. And where it happened. I knew they had to take her to the nearest hospital so I looked at Google maps. Now were here, Sebastian said a little bitchy and ended with an obviously fake smile. So why dont you tell me everything that happened to her. And where our parents are.

In the accident, Ms. Pierce suffered a really bad concussion during the flipping of the car-, the doctor started.

How do you know the car was flipping? Sebastian interrupted.

Witnesses. It was a busy road and severaldrivers saw it. And thankfully no one else got hurt, the doctor explained. As I was saying, as well as a concussion, during the flipping the car started crushing. Which means it was crushing her. Glass from the sunroof punctured her spine so she may temporarily paralyzed from the waist-down for a while. Also, glass from the drivers window got lodged in her liver. And when the car ended up upside down in the ditch, the windshield as well as other windows shattered and scratched her up a bit. Also, being crushed and flipped so many times broke her left arm, right shoulder, both legs, but not her neck. But shell need to wear the neck-brace for her spine and neck sprain. That is all. Ill give you two a minute alone with your sister. The doctor left.

Blaine let go of Brittanys cold, scratched up hand gently and took his phone out of his pocket to text the glee club group chat and he sent, Emergency glee meeting. URGENT! Meet in the auditorium NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

* * *

Everyone was in the auditorium already when Blaine and Sebastian walked in. Whyd you want to meet? Whats so urgent? Finn asked. Wheres Brittany? Is everything okay?

Have you guys seen the news earlier?- Sebastian started to ask.

Brittany was is a car accident, Blaine interrupted, facing away from the group towards the audience chairs. Shes in a coma. And will be for a while. Shes in critical condition.

Everyone in groups faces went blank. What? Sam asked. Which hospital? We have to go see her! Sam grabbed his bag and started walking up the stairs to exit the auditorium. After a moment, everyone fluttered their eyes, and then they grabbed their own bags and started following Sam.

Only direct family member can visit her, Blaine said.

We dont care, Artie said. Were her friends. Well wait in the waiting room until shes stable. Then the group left. A second later, Blaine and Sebastian followed.

Sebastian clearly didnt need to ask Blaine where he was going, and he followed him to the car and they drove to McKinley. But throughout the entire ride, neither of them said a word.

When the group arrived at the hospital, the group sat in the waiting room chairs (except Artie who stayed in his wheel chair) as Sebastian checked with Brittanys doctor to see if she was stable. She was still critical. So the gang waited in the waiting for as long they felt they needed to until she became stable. They waited two weeks. And when they were finally allowed in to see Brittany, each of them had a moment alone with her to talk to her.
