Intro, Elmo and Big Bird

This book is a tribute to Jim Henson and the legacy he left behind. when I finish this book I will make a sequel about muppet facts. Muppet Facts should be published on wattpad by about May 2014-ish once I finish with this book. watch out for updates about your favorite character and if you want to send me a message with a recommendation about which character to do next please do. in this chapter you will find: the origin story of ELMO and the origin story of Big bird.

Elmo is a furry red muppet with an orange nose. he is written to be a three year old and referrs to himself in a third person. the character became very popular with toddlers in 1998. this popularity gave Elmo his own segment on the show called Elmos world.

elmo lives in an apartment  on seasame street with his mom Mae, dad Louie, sister Daisy and pet gold fish Dorothy.

Elmos family also includes his grandma and grandpa, his great-grandma and his great-grandpa (named Selmo), his aunt Jill, uncle Jack and cousins Jesse, Elmer and chester. Elmo also has two "international" cousins, pepe from mexico and elmonosuke from japan.

Elmos birthday is Febuary 3rd. 

the puppet was designed by caroly Wilcox and was oringinally called baby monster.

elmo appeared on the show as elmo for the first time in season 12.   writter David Korr took a liking to elmo and started putting him on the show regularly.

The first sketches of elmo reveales that he was actually supposed to have a much wider face. there are eigth or nine different elmo puppets used in each seasame street episode.

Elmos faveorite food is wasabi.

the elmo puppet is 24 inches tall.

the oringinal Elmo puppet was donated to the smithsonian institution in 2013.

THE ORIGIN STORY OF BIG BIRD

big bird is an 8 foot and 2 inches tall bird. he can roller skate. ice skate, ride a unicycle and a lot of other things- he's pretty talented for a six year old giant bird.

big bird lives in a giant nest behind 123 Sesame street and next to Oscar the grouches trash can.

he also has a teddy bear named radar.

for many years big birds best friend Mr. Snuffleupagus who big bird called Snuffy. was deemed imaginary by the adults on sesame street. how ever Snuffy just left before the adults got there.

big birds closest human friendship was with Mr. Hooper who big bird often called Mr. Looper. when the Actor who played the role died the writers decided to have the character die to. one of the biggest most important episodes of sesame street was the episode where big bird goes to give Mr. Hooper the drawing big bird made for him of course Mr. Hooper is not there. the other adults on sesame street tell big bird that "Mr. Hooper is dead. and when people are dead they don't come back."

big bird starred in a movie called 'follow that bird' in which big bird is sent by miss Finch, a bird social worker, to live with a foster family of dodos for a while. big bird runs away and tries to get back to sesame street but is kidnapped and dyed blue by some circus owners. (my personal favorite movie)

big birds "scientific" name is bigus canarius.

as a baby big bird was raised by his grandma granny bird and his aunt Nani bird. big birds family also includes his mom his dad his sister his sister's egg, his uncle slim bird, his cousins Herman, Monroe, Bartholomew, Bunscomb, Bertha, Bagshot, Bathsheba, Bubba, Bernie and Robbin Bird, his uncle Ned and uncle Turkey, and his grandpa.

big birds birth day is march 30th.
