Monday

Monday is the day I dread most. It's the start of the week, I rolled out of bed and slammed my hand on my alarm. I let out a large groan and got up and grabbed my towel to go take a shower. I got in and turned in the hot water until suddenly the hot turned to cold. Ugh! My stupid brothers, who start school forty minutes before I do, left me no hot water in the shower. I turned off the water and washed my body and hair like Summer does to save water. I turned the water back on and I got a little bit more hot water out, but I quickly learned turned it back of to condition when the water turned cold. I quickly rinsed the conditioner out of my hair and steeped out of the shower. I immediately wrapped myself in a towel and ran back to my room. I dried off and dressed myself in the lousy uniform we have to wear. I ran downstairs and ate a bowl of lucky charms and ran back upstairs to brush my teeth and my wet hair. I went and ran a blow dryer through my hair for good measure. I ran downstairs and out on my high tops and strapped my backpack on. I strapped on my helmet and hopped on my skateboard for school. After fifteen minutes of riding, I finally made it to the school. I ran in, eager to play music.

I stopped at my locker and started loading my things in. Summer came up to me.

"Hey Tomiks!" She yelled, she was hugging a book to her chest.

"Hey, how was your weekend?" I asked.

"Good," she sighed. I raised my eyebrows, "How was yours?"

"It was pretty chill. I didn't really do anything."

Summer nodded. "Ready to go to class?" She asked.

I slammed my locker shut. "As ready as I'll ever be." I groaned. She laughed and we walked to class.

We walked into class. Our other friends, Zack, Lawrence, and Freddy, we're all talking about some video game. Mr. Finn, of course, wasn't there yet.

"Hi Freddy!" I heard Summer yell next to me. She was waving over-dramatically. Freddy have her a confused look and an awkward wave. Summer sighed.

"He is so cute."

I nodded, slightly disgusted. And went and sat in my desk next to Summer's. I turned around to my friends.

"So, what time do you guys thinks Mr. Finn will be in today?" I asked.

"Five bucks says he's in at 9:45." Zack said, it was 8:30.

"No, C'mon guys. We all know Mr. Finn will be in at 10:59. One minute before lunch." Freddy said.

"I agree with Freddy." Summer said. Freddy gave a confused look and I just shook my head, laughing.

"I'm guessing 9:15. C'mon Mr. Finn, don't let me down!" I prayed. The group laughed.

"Lawrence, you've got a guess?"

"Nah, whatever I guess is gonna be wrong and I'm gonna be five bucks in the hole either way."

"Who gets the cash if Mr. Finn doesn't show up at any of our times?"

"Whoever got it closest." Zack said. I nodded my head and turned to face the front. We all just kinda day there quietly. By 9 o'clock I glanced at Summer.

"Teach us something." I whispered. She rolled her eyes and stood up.

"Ok, since Mr. Finn isn't-"

"I'm here." Mr. Finn yawned as he came into the classroom.

"Yes!" I cheered. " I was closest. Pay up boys." I smirked.

Summer gave me wide eyes from the front of the classroom, where she was still standing.

"And Summer." I added.

She smiled and skipped back to her desk and got our her pink wallet. She handed me a crisp five-dollar bill and put her wallet back in her bag. Zack rolled his eyes as he handed me a semi-crumpled five-dollar bill. Lawrence have me a folded ten and I gave him Summer's five in exchange. Freddy dug in his pockets for his five dollars. I ended up with three crumpled dollars from Freddy. The rest was in coins. I rolled my eyes and put them in the special pocket I used for money in my backpack.

"Are you guys placing bets on me?" Mr. Finn asked, sounding a little offended.

"Listen, we're not gonna sugar coat it-" Zack started.

"But yes, we were placing bets on you." I finished. Zack have me a glare and I flashed him a sweet smile. It was fun to annoy Zack.

Anyways it's not like we were anything more than friends- nor will we ever be.
