I woke up because this bed I was sleeping on was uncomfortable. My head continued to bang against the wall and I didn't have space to turn around. Then I wondered where I was and I opened my eyes.
I sat up, rubbing my back when everything came crashing down. This Aaron guy was staying here. Just then, a terrible odour came from a room. It smelt like...burning waffles?
I ran to the kitchen and stood at the doorway. I sighed as I took the scene in. Aaron stood in the middle of the kitchen with his face ashy black and his hands in the air as if he was surrendering. "Sorry, the toaster fought with me. Then things got crazy."
"Just go upstairs, I'll clean this up," I sighed, walking behind him and pushing him out of the kitchen. Thankfully today was Saturday so there was no school. "Go take a shower too. You stink."
"Thanks," he smiled cockily causing me to roll my eyes. "Did Lily leave me clothes in a suitcase or...?"
"I don't know, did she?" I asked him, raising my eyebrows. I needed to clean this up. A thought suddenly overcame. "Wait."
He stopped walking and turned around and he sighed, feeling irritated. "Yes?"
I walked up to him, feeling a little annoyed too. "You broke into my house last night. Why couldn't you save us all the trouble and go through the front door?"
"Uh," he stammered slightly. He was taken aback for some unknown reason, "Lily told me to. She said that because all the girls were following me -"
"Why were they following you?" I asked, knowing all too well that I had interrupted him. I scoffed. "It's not like you're famous or something."
"Do you know who I am?" Aaron asked, using his hands to gesture himself up and down. Were all boys this cocky? Honestly. "I'm Aaron Anderson."
"Okay, Aaron Anderson," I mentally laughed. He thought he was so prestige. "Go take a shower."
He walked away and I could swear I heard him chuckle slightly. A sleepy Em walked passed him, rubbing her eyes. Great, now I'll have to tell Em the great news.
"Who's that guy who walked upstairs?" Em asked yawning slightly. She was pouring milk into the cereal bowl.
"Oh, him," I started laughing. "That's Aaron Anderson."
"That's who?" Em stopped pouring her milk.
"So, yesterday, a nice lady called Lily came at like four in the morning. Told us that some dude called Aaron Anderson was staying with us," I explained to her. Em was absorbing each sentence carefully.
"Aaron Anderson? H-here? In our house?" Em asked again, staring at me oddly. It's not like I grew another head. I nodded in confirmation. Then I regretted it because Em started screaming and shaking the open bottle of milk everywhere.
"Emily! Stop screaming," I told her but all I got in return was Emily splashing milk on my face. "Stop it."
I was walking towards her to shut her mouth with my hand and I slipped on the milk. I clutched my head and groaned. Emily was screaming and my head was hurting so that meant that I would have a terrible headache.
"What's all the noise about?" A masculine voice asked, causing Em to finally stop screaming and me to look up a him. I sat up, touching my hair and sighing when I saw that there was milk in it. It seemed like Aaron was stifling a laugh when he saw me. "What happened here?"
"You," Em spoke up with ferocity behind her voice. "You're Aaron Anderson, right?"
It was as if she was dating him to say no. Aaron couldn't say anything Em walked up to him and started squishing his face with her hands and pinching his cheeks. "Yes, I am."
Em hugged him tightly and she made her frame seem more delicate than it already was. She whispered, "I love you."
"Thanks," Aaron said awkwardly. "But my stomach still hurts from when your sister whacked me in my stomach. Two times."
"Ooh," Em stared at me, wriggling her eyebrows. Then she turned back to Aaron. "I wanna whack you too!"
Before Aaron could say no, Emily elbowed him in the stomach. Then she skipped out happily while Aaron whimpered in pain. I went upstairs to take a shower.
I had taken my shower and I was drying my hair as I walked downstairs. I didn't notice that it would be this silent. Then, I cautiously walked into the kitchen and I was awestruck again.
"It's my way of saying sorry for what I did yesterday," he said guiltily, looking down at his feet. It was quite odd though; thinking about a famous person like him doing work.
"It's okay -"
"No problem," he cut me off awkwardly. We stood there for a while.
"Okay, I'll just put these outside and then I'll go," a man said, carrying black bags from the living room. I turned around to look at Aaron in disbelief.
"You paid someone to clean the kitchen?" I asked, raising my eyebrows. When he nodded, I sighed. Rich people. "Let me find my wallet -"
"Thanks Victor," Aaron said, handing him the money. Victor raised his hand and walked out of the house.
"I could've paid. It is my house," I told him flatly.
"That's no way to treat a lady," he smiled flirtatiously and I scoffed at his childish attempt. His eyes shone with amusement.
"Listen, you might be a pop sensation and you might woo all the other girls. But not me, because I'm not like other girls. So don't try it," I said, walking away into the bedroom without a second glance.
I plopped onto my bed and I was immediately overcome with the stiffness of my bed. Speaking of beds, if I slept on the sofa, where did Aaron sleep?
Jumping off my bed, I sat down sighing miserably. Gosh, I can't believe that Aaron Anderson was living with us. I know my life hasn't been normal at all for me, but I have a feeling that after this, I'll never get that chance.
Someone knocked on the door. I was suddenly snapped out of my deep reverie.
Aaron decided to walk in. I didn't know what type of impression he showed on me yet. I wasn't sure if I hated him or if I found him friend-worthy. "Hey, Lily wants to speak to you."
"Hello?" I said when Aaron gave me the phone. He had a sheepish grin on his face and I looked at him feeling puzzled.
"Ah, Olivia! So nice to hear from you again!" Lily exclaimed as if we were old friends reuniting. I knew that she wasn't a person that you would mess with. "So, I have some amazing news."
"Yes?" I managed to croak out. So far, everything she has told me has turned out for the worst. Okay, she told me one thing. Still. It counts for something.
"Aaron is going to start your High School on Monday!" Lily squealed excitedly over the phone. She was way too happy for my liking. How could she be happy about this?
"WHAT?"
