Kids POV

I'm running. I'm not sure what from and where I think I'm going but all I know is that I'm looking for...something or someone...I'm not sure whom or what. I feel almost desperate to find whatever, or whoever, it is. In the distance, I hear someone shout. The closer I get, the clearer it is. Someone is shouting my name. "KID! HELP ME!" the person cries. The voice is definitely female. It sounds so familiar but I can't quite put my finger on who the screams belong to. The hall that I've been running down ends. Before me is a huge black door with a silver spider-web pattern covering it. I push it open lightly to see Zora tied up in a giant web. Arachne is standing above her with a knife. "Welcome Death the Kid! You are just in time to watch me kill your little girlfriend." And just like that, I watch her drive the knife into Zora's heart.

My eyes snap open, panic fills my blood. I quickly look to where Zora was sleeping and the space is empty. A cool breeze tickles the back of my neck. The balcony doors behind me are open a crack. Through the crack in the door, Zora is sitting on the ground with a notebook and a pencil. Her back is towards me but I can still see her hands moving in jolts in different directions. Out of curiosity, I make my over to her. Her focus is so intense she doesn't seem to notice my presence. I creep closer and peek over her shoulder.

"Couldn't sleep?" I ask. She jumps but relaxes when she sees it's me. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to startle you."

"Oh, it's fine." She replies.

"Mind if I join you?" She hesitates but nods. I take a seat next to her as she goes back to working in her notebook. I look over her shoulder and I realize that it's a sketchbook. "What are you drawing?" she leans over to show me then points up at the sky. With her finger, she draws a shape in the sky. I look at the book and then to the sky. She's drawing the constellations.

"Wow! These are amazing!" I exclaim.

"Thank you." she says sheepishly.

"Do you mind if I look at some more of your other pieces?" Instead of responding, she just hands the notebook over to me. I start to flip through it slowly. Studying each drawing. There are pictures of flowers, animals, landscapes but the one that sparks my interest the most is a drawing of a girl. A young girl. No older than the age of five. The picture is so lifelike, I can almost hear the girl laughing. The girl looks similar to Zora especially in the eyes. Big, beautiful, and full of light.

"Who's this?"  I inquire. Her whole face drops. She avoids my gaze like the plague. I reach out and touch her hand lightly. Zora looks at me with wide, puffy eyes filled with tears. I wrap my hand into hers and I give it a squeeze.

"Zora, I'm so sorry. I didn't know." She wipes under her eyes and gives me a sad smile, holding back more tears. She reaches over and delicately flips a few pages ahead. It's a drawing of four people. A man and a woman with two children, one older than the other. The younger one looks like the portrait of Zora's sister. This must be her family. The bottom of the drawing is three words. 'In loving memory' . Those three words shake me to my core. I look up at her to see silent tears pouring from her eyes. My hands lose grip on the sketchbook and it clatters to the floor of the balcony. I wrap my arms around tightly around her. She melts into me as her body shakes with sobs. "I am so sorry, my dear."

We spend forever sitting there, Zora crying into my shoulder, my hand on the back of her head. Her body is pressed into me so I can feel everytime a sob rakes through her body. My heart begins to ache for her.

Slowly, the sobbing slows into a cry and then soon it slows into deep breaths. I pull away slightly to look the face and I realize she has cried herself to sleep. As carefully as I can so I don't wake her, I shift Zora around so I'm carrying her. I stand and take her back inside. The others are still sound asleep all around the living room. I lay Zora down carefully and bring her blanket over her. Her eyes are still puffy and tears stain her cheeks but she is still the most beautiful person I've ever seen. I retrieve her sketchbook from the balcony and put it back her bag. Before I go lay back down, I kneel beside her and push her hair out of her face. I kiss her gently on the forehead and she stirs, a small smile growing on her face. I return to my spot near her on the floor and I quickly fall back asleep.
