Zora's POV

It's been a month since the sleepover and Kid and I haven't said anything since our kiss in the closet. However, my feelings continue to grow. Just being near him makes my knees buckle underneath me. Every touch feels like magic. I wanna do something about it but because he hasn't said anything about our kiss. Maybe he regrets kissing me in the first place.

I'm sitting in class in my usual seat next to Kid. My chin is resting on my hands and my eyes are start drooping. I never really enjoy Professor Stein's dissection lessons. I'm not that squeamish but they are just really boring. Unfortunately, I have try to keep my eyes open and pay attention. I don't even have something fun to look forward to to help me stay motivated. This afternoon, the girls are dragging me to the mall to go shopping for some summery clothes. Since we have a four day weekend this week, the gang decided that it would be fun to go to Kid's beach house. Liz and Patty showed me pictures from the last time they went and it actually looks like a lot of fun. It has a private pool and hot tub along with a private beach area. It has one master bedroom and four guest rooms so there will be plenty of space for all nine of us.

The downside was the girls are gonna make me wear a ton of girly clothes. I'm not the biggest fan of showing a lot of skin but I know it was no use trying to get away without wearing a swimsuit so I didn't fight them. Josie promised they wouldn't force me into anything less than a one piece.

The bell ringing snaps me from my trance. That was the last class of the day meaning it was time to go to the mall. I rub my tired eyes and turn towards Kid. He was already looking at me when I looked over. He was about to open his mouth to say something but was interrupted by me getting yanked by Josie.

"IT'S TIME FOR THE MALL!!!" she shrieks in my ear. My eyes plead for Kid to find a way to get me out of this. He gives me a shrug and wave as I get dragged from my chair and towards the door.

"Traitor!" I chastise Kid as he disappears from my view.

*LE TIME SKIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY A MAKA CHOP*

After thirty grueling minutes of walking, we finally made it to the Death City Mall. My calfs are burning like the candles that decorate the top of the DWMA and my feet are pulsing with an achy feeling. I plop on a bench outside of the entrance to the mall but the moment of peace doesn't last long. A hand grabs my arm once more and I get dragged into the mall. I stumble after Josie who was the one that grabbed me. She skips behind the other girls who have already disappeared through the doors.

The girls run into the nearest clothing store with me tumbling behind. Each girl starts at a different rack looking through rows and rows of clothes. A overwhelming wave of confusion comes over me so I just stand in the middle of the sea of racks. The girls look like bee's in a field, buzzing from flower to flower. Josie sees me standing there and makes her way over to me.

"Alright! We need to get you a couple of sundresses, a romper, some pairs of shorts, some crop tops, a tank top and some swimsuits!" she squeals. "That should last you the weekend. Oh! And we need to buy you a dinner dress for when we go out to eat on Saturday night!" I gawk at her, not excited for any of these outfit ideas.

"I already have a lot of those things at home already. I don't need anymore." I point out. I was never really a fashion guru like Josie.

"Yea but all of your stuff is dark and brooding. You need some summery colors!" She continues rambling on about what shoes I should get and what colors would look best on me. After a little while, she tosses a pile of clothes at me and knocks me into a dressing stall. "When you put them on, come model them for me!" She shouts. I sigh and start trying stuff on the mountain of clothes she gave me.

*LE TIME SKIP BROUGHT TO YOU BY SOULS COOLNESS*

Our mall excursion took an entire four hours. All the girls, including me, left with bags and bags full of clothes, shoes, and accessories. We all pay, say our goodbyes, and we go our separate ways. As Josie and I make our way home, I take the time to look up and admire the stars, remembering my night on the balcony with Kid. Josie is skipping beside me, swinging her shopping bags back and forth like a preschooler on a sugar high. I keep my eyes on the sky, outlining the constellations with my mind. Suddenly, a shooting star passes through the sky. I quickly shut my eyes and make a wish. 'Please, let my life start making sense.' I thought to myself. Kid's adorable face enters my mind. He is the most confusing thing in my life but, at the same time, he was the only thing that was clear. It makes no sense at all. I don't understand my feelings for him and I don't think I ever will. But I really hope that one day I will.

Kid's POV

My mind has been racing since I watched Zora get dragged to the mall by the girls. It's Thursday and school is off tomorrow so we are all leaving first thing in the morning for the beach house. We are staying until Monday afternoon since we have a four day weekend from school. Ever since the sleepover and finding out about Zora's family, I was determined to bring back at least some happiness back into her life, as much as I can. I thought a day at the beach would be just as fun for the gang as it would be for Zora. Josie told me once that she hasn't been swimming since they were eleven years old. She said that Zora loves swimming but they just never took the time to go again. I want to make sure that this is the best weekend ever for her.

After making my long extensive packing list, complete with organized columns, I finally get around to the actual packing part. I pulled out a black suitcase with white symmetrical stripes on it from the hall closet. Placing them in the suitcase, I pulled out a few casual shirts and shorts, two pairs of swim trunks and some Pajamas. I made my way to the closet and pulled out a pair of dress pants, a white button-down shirt, and a black blazer. I was planning on taking the gang out for a fancy dinner on Saturday night to celebrate our friendship so I asked them to bring a fancy outfit. I grinned in satisfaction at my organized suitcase so I close it up and set in on the floor. I lay on my bed and let my eyes slip shut. I dreamed of Zora for most of the night. I just want her to be happy.
