Kids POV
I rush over to her side. Zora's head hits the floor before I can reach her. I was too slow to catch her. I scan over every inch of her looking for injuries. I little trickle of blood runs down her face, over her eye until it reaches the floor. Her meister, Josephina is going off on Black Star who is on the floor still recovering.
"We need to get her to the Nurse," I state to my weapons. They step forward to take her but I stop them. Normally, I would request them to do it for me because of the blood pooling from her head. But at this moment, it didn't matter. "Liz, Patty, I want you to take Josephina to class and explain to Professor Stein the situation. I will take Zora to the nurse's office. Josephina, go with the girls, you can check in on her later." She opened her mouth to object but simply closed it and nodded. I can tell that leaving Zora behind was difficult for her. I scooch my arms under her body and lift her with ease. I leave the others and begin my walk to the Nurse's office.
*le time skip*
After the nurse checked on Zora, she said that she was going to be okay. All she needed was some stitches. The nurse said all there is to do but to just wait for her to wake up. I bowed, thanking the kind nurse and she exited the room, leaving me alone with the beautiful girl. I sat in the chair next to the bed she is laying on. Her chest rises and falls slowly as she breathes. The room is silent besides the quiet sound of Zora breathing. I take the moments to study her beautiful face. Freckles dot her rosy cheeks like constellations on a clear night. Her eyes are closed causing her long eyelashes to lightly dust her face. Her long hair is fanned out across the pillow. She looks like an angel. My heart feels like it might burst. I don't understand this feeling I get when I see her. I know that I just met her and I barely know anything about her except that she has been hurt badly but I just want to protect her. I want to make sure no one can ever hurt her. I will protect her.
I'm broken from my trance when Zora starts screaming in her sleep. She's having a nightmare. I rush to her side. She's kicking and thrashing so I'm careful getting too close. Suddenly, her eyes snap open wide. She stopped kicking but is now breathing heavily. Tears pour out of her eyes that are darting wildly all over the room. It breaks my heart to see her like this. She tries to sit herself up but she holds her head in pain. I quickly sit down on the bed rest my hand on her back to lower her back down to the bed. At first, she jumps a little at my touch but she relaxes and lets me lay her back down. I reach over to the glass of water next to her bed.
"Here. Drink this." I hold the glass to her lips. She takes a small, slow sip.
"Thank you." Zora squeaks out.
"Hey, are you feeling better?" I ask. She runs a hand through her hair and slightly nods. Just then the door slams open and Josephina rushes in.
"OMG ZORA ARE YOU OK?! OMG I'VE BEEN WORRIED SICK ABOUT YOU!" She yells. It startled me but Zora just sat there with a calm, plain expression. I'm guessing she's used to loud outbursts from her energetic meister. I chuckle a little at the sight. Josephina rushes over to her and starts asking a million questions and 100mph and I can barely keep up with her. From what I can see, the questions are yes and no ones because Zora is nodding and shaking her head at the end of each of her meister's questions. I sat there in awe of how she managed to understand all of the questions that are being thrown at her. And through it all, she looks so calm. It's like a switch was flipped. If it weren't for her puffy eyes and tear stains on her delicate cheeks, you would never even guess she was screaming and crying only moments before.
"Kid?" Josephina grabbed my attention. "Thank you so much for staying here and helping Zora. I really appreciate it." She bows to me.
"It was my pleasure." I smile at them. Zora blushes and gives me a shy smile. Suddenly, an idea popped in my mind. "I think it would be a splendid thing if you would both come to my mansion for a sleepover tonight. I was already planning on having one with my friends and I think it would be a wonderful opportunity for you two to get to know some people in your class? Only if you are up for it, Zora." Josephina looks to Zora who shyly nods. I smile at how cute she looks.
"We'll be there!" Josephina exclaims.
'YES!' I shout in my head. "Wonderful! My house is just down the street from here. You won't miss it. Everyone will be arriving at 8 pm, sharp. I will see you both then." They both bow and I return the gesture. I turn and casually walk out the door trying to contain my excitement. As soon as I turn the corner and get far enough from the nurse's office, I jump and punch the air with a big cheer. I land and quickly compose myself. I clear my throat and begin my journey home to plan my impromptu sleepover.
