CHAPTER - 4

IN CLASS

I didn't know why I had been wasting time. I had exams on which my career was depended. The Weekend Test results came. Ananya was in top 50. I was in last 500s.

I thought was it worth wasting my time for girls instead of studying, though I didn't got any of them. Well it was a mystery to me. Our class teacher warned us for the upcoming Board Exams. I was lost somewhere else.

' Stand up.. you..' , he said and pointed towards me.

I was nervous, and I quitely stood up.

' Do you know how much you got in Physics ?? 36 out of 360!! and you are dreaming of going in IIT, huh?? Study like these students... Ananya, Raj, Rohan, Sandeep, Shruti ..Don't you feel ashamed of your marks?? And you are roaming with girls after college. See lad you are in a pond now, soon you wll be into an ocean where there will be millions of students swimming, some will be drowning, some will be on the surface. It's upon you what you do to make your dreams come into reality, no one is gonna help you. Start studying from today, see I've expectations from you and all of you. At least think about your parents, how much money they are spending on your education. Get a good college and roam with girls how much you want. Do whatever with your life, I don't care. One month is remaining. Start studying everybody!!!!', he said giving me shrills.

The period was over. I didn't talk with anyone. I was depressed. Ananya called me. I didn't respond. The college was over. Rose came and stood in front of me.

' Yash, its okay. You can try hard next time.. ', she said and patted on my shoulders.

' Fine ', I said with a hostility in my voice.

' Come on, talk with me '.

I ignored her and went.

' Yash.. ', she said and pulled my hand.

' Stop it Rose!! Just leave me alone ', I shouted. Everyone started looking at us.

' Okay!! go and if you want me, I wouldn't be there for you!!! ', she said and left.

I felt bad. Everyone kept staring at me. I quickly went to the bicycle parking and went. I didn't do it purposely but I had hurted Rose.

AT EVENING

I couldn't study whole day. I was in a thought process. What would I be in my life?? What is the aim of my life?? To get Ananya or become a successful person?? Will I get a job to fullfill my needs?? I stopped here. I don't have an extraordinary talent so I can become famous or show it. Also I don't have a good voice to sing. I'm not even good in sports, I had been kept in substitutes for almost 2 years. It was 8. I went for a walk today. I was depressed. I saw Rose walking from the B-Block of our society. She was with her friends. They sat on a bench there, it was a lawn area.

' I'm extremely sorry Rose, I didn't do it purposely, it just came out on you. Hope you would forgive me!! ', I texted her.

' Yeah, only on one condition.. ' she replied back.

' And what's that miss Rose ??'.

' A coffee!! '.

' Accepted Miss!! ', I replied.

She said bye to her friends and came towards me.

' Lets go Miss ', I said.

We walked through the road that was never meant to be ours. We talked the things, we should have never talked about. I don't know whether this was right or not. I also didn't know what was I doing.  We sat on the same table we did before.

' So Yash, how was your day?? ', she asked. Today's coffee had a different taste.

' Fine!! '.

' Fine?? Did something go wrong dear ?? '.

' Yeah..I have been thinking about my career ', I said agitatedly.

' Great. So what have you thought?? '.

' I don't know. I'll try to get a good engineering college, and then a job! ', I said.

' Thats nice '.

' What about you ?? ', I asked her.

' Me?? I'll try to become a engineer and if I didn't like it, I'll get a job at my father's company '.

I was shocked. Oh My God!!! She is getting a job without doing anything. I wish I could have done that. But then there was one thing that mattered to me ' Self-Respect '. I couldn't loose that.

' Great!! ', I said.

' Enough of this career talk, lets talk something else '.

' Okay, I'll ask some things to you and you will answer that without any hesitations '.

' Fantastic. Lets do it!! ', she said by removing her silver watch, and keeping on the linings of the table designs.

' First question : What three things you like or a girl likes in a man?? '.

' Umm...Money, Bike and his looks!! ', she grinned. I was annoyed by her answer, but I didn't show it on face.

' Second question : Don't you think having a lovely heart is one of them ?? '.

' Nope!! how would the girl know you have a lovely heart.!! You may be a cheater also. You need to show it. And if the girl doesn't know, it becomes one sided love. And the girl remains in you dreams!!! ', she said and laughed.

' A girl in your dreams ?? ', I asked.

' Yeah a girl in your dreams, a girl you will see everyday, talk everyday but the thing is she will be only in your dreams!! '.

' Okay...that's great, lets go it is 8:40 now. We are not 18 to roam anywhere, anytime!! May be we can do it in our dreams', I said.

We reached our society. ' Bye ', she said.

It was our bedtime. I switched off lights, took my phone, set an alarm to it and started staring at the ceiling. Many thoughts were going on in my mind. I decided, not to get depressed.

But then I remembered a friend, who used to tell me ,' Whether good or bad, everything happens for our own good '.

I didn't understood at that time, guess I did now.
