Chris was nervously tapping with his fingers to the bar.

"Would you relax?" a man of his age came to him and gave him a glass of whiskey. "I am sure she will come."
"Yeah, I know," Chris sighed, "cheers." "Cheers, buddy."

"So, did you have a good time?" man asked him.
"Yes, man I, I really did," Chris chuckled, "Hayley, she is amazing. I mean, she is smart, witty, lettered and she is so beautiful..."
"So, you spent whole that time together?"
"Yes, I was with my family twice, but the rest of my time I was with her."
"Wow," his friend raised eyebrow and drank from his glass, "it seems pretty serious."
"You know, actually, it is. Truth is I don't wanna leave. I would give anything, so I could stay here with her."
"Hey, pal. Just two more months and we are back home," he smirked and suddenly looked around. "What is it?" Chris asked, because he noticed, that people in the club were more quiet.
"Well, damn," man sighed and looked at Chris, "look at that chick."
"Yeah, that's my Hayley," Chris was staring at approaching woman - red dress, perfect make up and hair. She was aware, that everyone is looking at her and she was enjoying it.
"You're kidding, right?"

"Good evening," Hayley came to them and smiled. Her eyes sparkled, she got everybody's attention, because she looked like a movie star.
Chris couldn't say a word, he was so impressed. She chuckled and turned to his companion. When she looked at him, he jerked with himself. "Ma'am," he said. "Ma'am?" Hayley lauhed, "what am I? Some fifty-year-old?" "Sorry," he smiled and looked at Chris. "Alright, since your boyfriend is obviously in some sort of trance, I will introduce myself. I'm Sebastian and I serve with him in the same unit."
"Nice to meet you. I'm Hayley," they shook hands and turned to Chris.
"Uhm... Darling?" Hayley came closer to him, "are you awake?"
"Sorry," Chris sighed, "you can't do this to me? I... I won't be able to leave!"
"Just two months, we survived 4 and this is nothing - just few lonely nights and then we will be together again," she kissed him and he hugged her.
"Would you like something to drink?" Chris asked them. "Just a little bit of red wine, please," Hayley said. "And I have one more shot of whiskey," Sebastian smirked.
"You know, I am glad, that other soldiers from our unit couldn't see him like that," Seb joked, "otherwise they could rebell against their leader."
"He is cute, when he's upset, right?" she smiled. "So, how long do you know each other?"
"Well, I joined his unit 4 months ago, this is my first tour."
"How is he? As a leader?"
"Great and I'm not saying it, because you asked me this question. I know, I can count on him no matter what, you know. And that's what you should feel when you have a leader - support, certainty and sense for determination. He can be hard on us, he requires obedience, but that's for our good and we trust him."
"Sebastian?" she whispered his name. "Yes?" he leaned to her. "Promise me, you will keep an eye on him."
"Of course, we cover each others back. Always," he smiled.
"Alright, red wine for lady," Chris was back and gave her a glass, "and whiskey for my best friend." "Thanks," Seb chuckled.

They spent that night together. Chris took Hayley on the dance floor and they danced for hours. No one could tell, that it is a goodbye party, it was a celebration of life and laugh.

"I'll see you in the morning," Chris said to Sebastian, when they were leaving to Hayley's place.
"Yes," he nodded. "And next time, bring some friend, ok?" he turned to Hayley. "Ok, you know, I am sure there will be a 'welcome' party, so I'll find someone and bring her with me," she laughed. "Take care, Seb," she hugged him. "You too, Hayley."

Chris and Hayley walked through the night city, they had last few hours, but it seemed like an eternity. They lost track of time and they were enjoying presence, the moment right here, right now. They got to her apartment and had a long hot shower, then went to bed and felt asleep in a hug.

"I will write you as much as it will be possible." They were standing in the hall in her apartment building. "I will be waiting," she whispered.

Cab stopped on the street and Chris saw Seb, waving at him. He inhaled, but Hayley kissed him and pressed her lips to his as much as she could. "Don't say goodbye. Say just, that you love me." "I love you, Hayley. I love you with all my heart. And I see you in two months," he said and left, got to the cab and she watched him disappear in the distance.

Two months. It felt like the eternity, but it was different this time. Hayley went to audition for the role at MET and they were so stunned by her performance, they offered her a role immediately. So, she had a losts of things to do. She studied new language, she studied arias and she kept a part time job in the florist's because she simply loved it there. Every week in Monday a hand writing letter came from Chris.

Dear Hayley,

...I can't wait to see you on the stage again. I am so exciting that you got that part, that you've met new people. I can feel your happiness from the words, that you wrote me. I wish I could be there with you, I wish I could kiss you right now. To be honest, we are bored, here. But I think it's a good thing. No danger, no sudden quick shifts. Hope I will be able to skype you this weekend, I guess I will know when we will arrive home. Would you believe it? Just two more weeks...

Dear Chris,

to be honest. I can't believe it. Time flies so quickly this time. But I am grateful for that, my love. I can't wait to have you in my arms again, to be able to tell you everything. I am glad, that you are bored - at least I know, that you are safe and there is no danger around you. Keep it that way, can you?...

He called her a night before his departure. "Hi," she sighed and sent him a kiss. "Hello my beauty. Wow, you are even more beautiful now," he said in fascination. "I made myself pretty for you, my darling," she smirked and noticed a movement behind his back.
"Hello there, my lovebirds," Sebastian appeared on her screen. "Just so you know, Hayley. I can't wait the time when I have this man out of my life. He's terrible, he kept talking about you all the time, whining and crying like a baby and he snores." "Jerk," Chris punched him into his shoulder, "get the hell out," he laughed. "I am glad, that you are actually having a good time," she sighed with relief. "Yes, me too. And for the record, I wasn't crying or whining," Chris smiled. "Sure, sure," Hayley grinned. "So, listen. Our plane will arrive on Sunday morning. My family will be there, waiting for me. I would like you to meet them, but I guess, it will be better if I'd invited you to our house for a dinner, what do you think?" "Wow, okay... Let me just breath for a second," she panicked a little when she heard, that she should meet his family. "They are going to love you, honey. My mom is amazing woman, don't worry," he calmed her. "I know. It's just something new for me." "So, do you agree?" "Yes. First go and meet your family and then come to my apartment, you don't have to knock, I have a surprise for you," she smirked. "I can't wait," he smiled, "I love you." "I love you too. Bye." "Good night. See you soon."
