"I have a secret I need to tell you, exquisite visions fill up my mind. Do you remember me?
Taking pictures of you as the light came through, you were running away, and I asked you for a place to stay."***
ALICE DIDN'T TELL DRACO that she would be going on a mission to find where Harry Potter was. She knew he would worry, and argue, and want to help her.
It had been two weeks since Voldemort had given Alice the task to find where Harry Potter would be in hiding. And it had also been a month since Albus Dumbledore's death.
The news of Dumbledore's death had traveled like wild fire throughout the wizarding community. Alice wasn't surprised though, she knew it would be a big loss to the community, but she never fully had the time to mourn.
Since Voldemort had given her, her task, she had nonstop been busy working with the elder Death Eaters, unbeknownst to Draco. Alice had kept telling Draco that she would be with her mother doing woman related things to try and divert his attention.
After a week of coming back to the Manor tired and annoyed, Draco knew Alice hadn't been doing what she said she had. He noticed how she began carrying a briefcase, that seemed important since she had a lock on it, and kept it hidden in her room whenever she got home.
Not only had Alice become more exhausted, she rarely ever had time to spend with Draco, which upset him to no end. He loved having attention and once his girlfriend had started becoming busier with her plans, he started becoming more alone than he was in the past year.
So, when Alice had come home late and decided to take a shower in Draco's quarters, because "his had always been better," Draco discreetly snuck into Alice's room, rifling through her things as quickly as possible. He knew that because the briefcase had a lock on it, it probably had a defensive charm from being found with the 'Accio' spell.
Digging through Alice's wardrobe he noticed the bottom panel of the tall cabinet had sounded hollowed. So, picking up the wood, he found the leather bound briefcase his girlfriend had been so secretive about.
He looked at the lock on the case, cursing to himself as he remembered it was there. Looking at the dials he noticed there were three different slots, a birthday or special date maybe? He knew she wouldn't have made it any date pertaining to their relationship, Alice was never like that. So, he knew it had to be someone's birthday. He tried hers, with no luck, and he also tried Holland's and Cara's, but had no luck. Thinking Alice wouldn't be that naive, he tried his own birthday and to his own surprise 05-06-80 had worked.
