A SECRET AFFAIR (SNOWBARRY AU)

EVERYTHING CHANGE

Barry lay on the bed, gazing up at the ceiling.

He couldn't sleep , he can't stop thinking about Caitlin snow.She was there with them just for  a while,and she was kinda ignores him.

But most importantly there is something that catch Barry's eyes,the ring on her fingers.

It just enough to make him nervous.It is not just some typical ring but engagement ring.

He could not ask Caitlin as he is no one to her.

He shook his head ' no they are still young unless...'

Barry sat on the edge of the bed, he runs his hand through his hair.He need to talk to someone and the only one he can think of is Iris.

He wonder if Iris notice the rings.

" Hey..are you busy? I would like to talk to you in private..its..about something  that is very important to me", he really needs to talk to Iris to clear his mind.

There is a silence in between the line before Iris started to speak again.

"Yeah sure,where are you?"

"Thanks I'll go to your house"Barry wanted to hang up when he heard Iris  say something.

"Barry wait no..I mean I'm at Eddie's house..so i will go to your house instead."

"Oh... no it's fine ,it is okay ..umm we can talk later..I'm Sorry for.."

"Barry listen no it's okay, Eddie said he don't mind .Lets talk".Iris reassured Barry.

"Barry.."Iris hold his shoulder squeezing it a little bit.Barry turned his head towards Iris he looked up and gave her a smile.

"Where is Eddie?"that was the first thing Barry asked, he felt guilty with Eddie.

"He is in the car, he is fine..so what is wrong?"Iris reassured Barry, she knows Barry felt bad with Eddie for constantly disturbing them.

"I just need to talk you, to clear my mind and you the only one I can think off"Iris hold Barry hand.

"I' always will be there for you..so what you want to talk?"

"It's Caitlin..."

"What about her?"She hopes its not about the ring.

"I saw  a ring on her fingers"Barry let out a heavy sigh

"So you did notice it...Barry I think its time for you to let go of your feelings.I mean..."Barry  turned his head towards Iris.

"so you know?"

Iris Reach over to hold Barry hand, squeezing it a little bit. "remember when both of us excuse ourself..I ask her during that time..Barry she love Ronnie and they are going to get married , maybe you confused with your feeling towards her, maybe what you felt for Caitlin is not real, maybe it's not love , it's lust and desire , and  you just broke up with Patty so maybe thats the reason you felt something for Caitlin.. .I don't know but maybe it's a sign , a sign that you and Caitlin were never meant to be together...."

Barry shook his head. " No,its different..i know i felt something and its not like what you say.."

He know he wants Caitlin because its her. There is something special about her, the way she smile, the way she looked at him, and the way she acts, her hair , her laugh.Everything. she reminds him of his mother.

"Barry..I don't know, maybe I think you're just not ready yet,I mean you just broke up with Patty.. and I think you should give yourself some time..you know",

"Iris...I like her",

"I know..I'm happy for you that you found someone new but...just think about it..she is with Ronnie"She need Barry to understand the situation, its different.

"Barry..I will be the happiest person in the world if you meet with someone amazing...you know that"

"And I did!but you went out of your
way to convince me that i should not be with her..."His voive filled with frustration and anger.

"well Im really sorry but you, Ronnie and me are friends..so how do you expect me to support you when she's clearly with Ronnie..They are going to get married in a matter of time.." Her phone rings, assuming it's a called from Eddie.

She pull the phone out and look at the display, it was Eddie.Barry cupped his face with his hand, feeling upset.

"Barry..I like Caitlin she's a wonderful person and of course I will be happy if you and her together but she is not with you.."She don't want to ruin their friendship because of this matters.

"I"ll talk to you later..you can go home.."

Iris let out a sigh,she feel bad for Barry but she hopes he will forget about Caitlin.She leave him alone on the porch and walked away.

Barry close his eyes , what if Iris right about everything, what if he actually does not have feeling for Caitlin.
Everythings is such a mess right now, and he feel like his life is now falling apart.

"Hey buddy" Barry thought interrupted by his father voice.

Barry looked at his father smiling at him.

"You okay there slugger?"ask Henry Allen.

"Yeah just have some thoughts"Barry smiled.

"Where is Iris? I think i heard her voice.."

"She went home, its late anyway"Barry let out a sigh.

"You okay?I can sense something bothering you..you've been spacing out at dinner"Henry  sat down next to Barry.

"I'm fine dad..just a little bit tired.."Said Barry try to reassure his father.

"Do you remember the story on how i met with your mother.She is the most beautiful person in earth that I ever met.."Barry chuckle . "You say like you've been traveling all over the world."

"Well she still the most beautiful to me..Barry if you really love her , then pursue her.Go, get her and bring her home.I would like to meet with this beautiful young lady " Barry smile at his father,he never told his father about Caitlin being engaged with Ronnie , his friend.

"Whatever happen after that,  don't think about it now..You should never have regret in your life..I will always support you slugger.."

"Thank you for being a great father to me.." he then hugged his father.

Maybe he should take the risk. Whether it losing Ronnie as a friend or Caitlin or even worse both of them.
