(2 Days after chapter 2)
Peridot POV
Peridot: Hey Jasper it's me Peridot! I got a new phone!
Jasper: Oh Peridot. How's Summer going for
you? You excited for school like usual?
Peridot: Of course! I absolutely LIVE for school!
I don't get why you have to be a grump about it.
Jasper: lol! I just find school a bit silly. That's all.
Peridot: Well has anything exciting
happened too you lately?
Jasper: If you count picking scabs while sitting
on a log at some boring summer camp exciting
than yes. How about you?
Peridot: Well I've made a new friend
I think. She seems nice.
Jasper: Wait. A new friend! Who is she?!
Peridot: Her name's Lapis. Why are you so surprised?
Jasper: It's Nothing really. I just think it's weird
that you met someone over the course
of the summer. How did you even meet?
Peridot: We met when I was trying to edit your number into my contacts and messed up the last two digits. I accidentally typed in her number by mistake, and we sort of just hit it off from there. And how is that weird!?
I have a life you know.
Jasper: I just never expected that you would for, a new friendship out of nowhere.
Besides, isn't it odd to make friends with someone from a wrong number?
You barely even know her!
Peridot: I barely know you, and we get along just fine.
You never tell me anything about your life and we are
great friends!
(5 minutes later)
Peridot: Jasper?
(1 hour later)
Peridot: Please reply.
(2 hours later)
Peridot: I may not know everything about you Jasper but I know you can be reckless. Don't do anything you know will cause trouble. Please reply.
(10 minutes later)
Peridot: Jasper please don't do anything drastic.
Peridot put her phone down and went downstairs for dinner. She was too scared in thought to finish her food and ended up excusing herself early from dinner right before dessert, something she never did. Her mother followed after her and they had a talk. Peridot explained what had happened and her mother understood. This wasn't the first time they've had to deal with Jasper's troubles. Her mother explained to Peridot that she did nothing wrong and told her that she would give Jasper's mom a call tomorrow to make sure Jasper was okay. And with that Peridot returned downstairs to finish her dessert.
