I sat down in the new seat I was assigned to, and promptly stuck my nose in my book. A new Greek mythology book.

New school, new house... moving sucks.

I forgot to introduce myself, huh? My name is Kit Langdon, I am 16 years old, and surprisingly short. I hate life at the moment.

"You're the new girl, huh?" A deep, gravelly voice asked. I looked up, and saw a really hot guy. "Yeah." My head bobbed up and down slowly. The boy plopped down next to me, and I guess he had friends, because two other guys sat by him. "What's your name?" He asked. I sighed, realizing I wasn't going to be able to continue reading my book.

"Kit." I dog eared my page, and carefully set the book in my back pack. "I'm Dakota." He grinned. Dakota had shaggy brown hair and brown eyes, with a smile that made me melt. "Leave the poor girl alone, Dakota." The teacher, Mrs. Blocker pointed a finger at him. The bell rang, and I breathed a sigh of relief as Mrs. Blocker began speaking about an Edgar Allen Poe novel.

But in the middle of class, Dakota slapped a note on my desk.

'Let me see your schedule'. His hand writing was awful. I handed it to him, along with his note. Two seconds later, he tossed the note at me again.

'We have lunch and fourth block together!' I rolled my eyes, shoving the note in my pocket. The class dragged on and on, and soon enough my hand began to hurt from writing so many notes. "All right, class. Since the three stooges were quiet and good today, you can have five minutes of free time." Mrs. Blocker smirked, and the class whooped.

To my great horror, Dakota and his two friends stood in front of my desk.

"Kit, these are my best friends." Dakota grinned. The one on my left held out his hand. "My name is Christian." He smiled softly, and I shook his hand. "And I'm Grey." The one on my right nodded lazily. Christian had lively brown eyes, blonde hair, and freckles splotched across his cheeks. Grey had nice green eyes, and light brown hair. He seemed bored with everything.

"It's very nice to meet you." I nervously rubbed my wrists and hands. "Where'd you move here from, Kitty?" Dakota looked down at me, his dark brown eyes staring at me sweetly.

"Iowa. Little blip on the map." I sighed, feeling homesick. "Long way away..." Grey folded his arms, and I nodded in agreement. "Do you miss it?" Christian asked. Before I could answer, the bell rang. I grabbed my bag, and strode out of the class.

The day went on, and I soon found myself in the line for lunch. "Hey Kitty." A familiar deep voice mumbled in my ear.

"Hello, Dakota." I rolled my eyes, grabbing a red tray. "You're sitting with me, right?" Dakota asked hopefully. I simply shrugged, and he laughed. I put a milk, a slice of pizza, and some applesauce on the tray, before making a bee line for the register, dragging Dakota with me. He pulled me to a table where Christian and Grey sat at, along with two girls. Dakota pulled my chair out for me, and I sat down, pulling him down with me

"Kody, she's pretty!" A girl with auburn hair smiled. My face got red. "I'm Victoria." She grinned, and I smiled back. "And I'm Kyah." The other girl with light, caramel skin and braces smiled. "Kit." I waved shyly. "So how have you been today? Get lost?" Christian shoveled food in his mouth. "Good, I s'pose. And no, I haven't actually. It's pretty easy to find my way around." I took small spoonfuls of strawberry applesauce. Pretty good for high school food.

"I got lost 7 times my first day." Grey scoffed. "You also skipped your entire first month." Kyah sneered. I giggled.

Someone was staring at me, I could feel it, so I looked over, and saw it was Dakota. "What?" I groaned. He snapped out of his trance, and laughed. "Nothing." He shook his head. Lunch was filled with laughs and smiles. I tossed away my trash when the bell rang. Dakota pulled me down the hallway, chattering freely as we walked to fourth block.

This boy probably wouldn't leave me alone.
