I shot up, my hair sticking to my sweaty face.
Another nightmare.
I numbly reached for my phone, my fingers already clicking 'Call' before I knew what I was doing.
It had to be about three in the morning.
"Hello?"
"Will you come over? Please." I rubbed my eyes.
I heard Dakota grab his keys on the other end of the line. "Yeah, it's alright. I'll be right there." He murmured.
I hung up, and got out of bed. Two days into break, and it's pretty shitty.
Dakota and I had talked for hours when i had called him after a nightmare. We didn't talk about it, we just joked around. He made me laugh.
Walking into the bathroom, I quickly washed my face and brushed out my hair.
I turned on my music, hearing the soft humming of slow songs.
I took a sip of the water on my bedside table, and some sloshed over the sides of the cup because of how much I shook.
I wrapped a warm blanket around my shoulders, and walked down the stairs.
I sat on my couch, and waited for Dakota in the silence of my living room. I waited until I heard three quiet knocks.
I quickly opened the door, and saw a messy haired Dakota on my door step. He had on basketball shorts and a tattered sleeveless shirt.
He wrapped his arms around me. "Did I wake you up?" I asked, leaning into him.
Dakota snorted. "Nah. I was playing Call of Duty."
I chuckled, and pulled away. "Dork." I had to lean around him to close the door because he wouldn't move.
I pulled him up the stairs, and we tiptoed to my room.
Plopping himself on my bed and snuggling into my many pillows, he eyed me carefully.
"What do you want to do? I know what could make you tired." Dakota winked at me.
"Oh my god." I groaned quietly.
"I meant playing Super Smash Brothers. Get your mind out of the gutter, Langdon!" He laughed softly, and I tossed a pillow at his face.
"I should strangle you." I smiled, going over to my Wii. "You won't. No balls." I could hear the smirk in his voice.
"I hate you, Dakota Benjamin Evans." I used his middle name, grinning as I did. I heard his mom use it when she chewed him out when we were on the phone.
"I'm gonna kick your little 5'3" ass!" Dakota grumbled.
Rematch after rematch, I won.
Dakota collapsed dramatically on my bed, pouting at me. "You cheated!" "How?" I muffled my laughter with my hand. "I don't know. But you did!" He turned his back to me.
"Kota." I dragged out the a, prodding his ribs. I crawled in front of him, and stared up at him. "We should watch a movie." He sighed contently.
"Can we watch The Hobbit?" I smiled excitedly. Dakota nodded, smiling at me.
I turned on my dvd player and clicked 'play'. I always watch this movie. Kota and I switched spots so I could see.
About half way through, my eyelids got heavy. "Go to sleep. I'm not going nowhere." Dakota's deep voice soothed me, and I could feel his arms around me.
As much as I wanted to fight it, when Dakota started humming Jasey Rae in my ear, I fell into a surprisingly peaceful sleep.
That sleep was ruined by someone beating me awake with a pillow.
I looked around, and saw Victoria and Grey in my room. Victoria smirked, and Grey was staring. Dakota sat up too, and I saw he was no longer wearing a shirt. When did that happen?!
"How did you get in my house?" I rubbed my eyes, and grabbed my phone. "Your mom let us in. She went to Robyn's, by the way." Grey said.
"And why are you here?" Dakota stood up, stretching.
"Well love birds, did you forget? We were going to go to lunch and then go to the beach!" Tori crossed her arms.
"Shit!" I flew out of bed, running to my bathroom. I got ready, not putting on any make up. Tori handed me a pink bikini as I walked out in my towel.
"This isn't mine." I stated, grabbing a pair of jean shorts and an old All Time Low shirt. "Exactly." She pushed me toward the bathroom again. I just put it on, no use in arguing. Victoria had all my stuff in her beach bag.
We had to swing by Kotas house, so he could grab his trunks. But otherwise Dakota and I were driving to Charlie's in his car, Grey and Victoria following us.
"Oh, look who decided to show up!" Christian teased as we walked in. The diner was packed.
Jess walked by us, shooting me a smile.
We all packed into a booth, and I ended up shoved against the wall. We ordered our food, and I just had a simple hot dog with cheese fries. "So. What happened last night?" Kyah waggled her eyebrows at me.
"Nothing." I rolled my eyes. No matter how much I tried to hide from it, I could tell everyone had questions.
My eyes traveled to Vic and Grey, their hands were laced together, and they would occasionally smile affectionately at each other.
"Did I miss something?" I asked, gesturing to their hands. Victoria blushed like crazy.
"Were dating now." Grey smiled. I grinned. So that's why he's been so happy!
I never would have thought that those two would date. With Victoria's giddy, bubbly personality, I would have thought she would have gone for Christian. But opposites attract, I suppose.
"For how long?" Kyah asked. "Just a week." Tori smiled.
The lunch was filled with talks of Vic and Grey's newfound relationship.
We split the bill, and drove to the beach.
Us girls sunbathed, while the boys had fun in the water.
"I need a drink, you guys want something?" I asked, sitting up. "Water!" They both mumbled, and I grabbed some money. I walked to a little beach food tent.
The guy before me turned around, and I smiled. His name was Dean Singer, and my was he gorgeous. He was like Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins' love child. Pretty green eyes and dark hair with a great build.
"Hey Kit!" He grinned. "Hi Dean." I giggled. "Can I get a blue Gatorade and two waters please?" I turned my attention to the worker. "'Course! $3.50." The woman smiled, and I handed her a five.
"So, who are you here with?" Dean asked as the woman handed me my drinks.
"Some friends. You?" I looked at him. He began to slowly walk by my side. "My brother." He shrugged.
"That's fun. How old is he?" I asked. "12.
He's over there." Dean pointed to a cute, scrawny kid in the water.
"His names Nick. I love that kid." He chuckled, and I smiled.
I stopped at my towel. "Well Dean, it was nice seeing you." I smiled. "Yeah. Can't wait to see you again." He winked, and waved, before turning and jogging toward his brother.
"Holy shit. He totally thinks your hot." Kyah suddenly pipped up, grabbing her water. "You guys say that about every guy that talks to me." I laughed, handing Vic her water and laying down on my towel.
But I couldn't help but let my mind wander back to the hot quarterback, and those pretty green eyes.
