Ambers POV
😛☁️|| June 29th, 1990 ||☁️😛Marshall and I were in the honeymoon stage. And we were in deep. It had only been one week, but we were stuck together like glue. We were completely inseparable from each other.
When he wanted to talk about the kiss at the ice cream place, I immediately expected him to tell me about how it should've never happened. Then again, it wouldn't surprise me if he thought I would say the same thing. Honestly, after the day at my house when he was saying inappropriate comments, I almost wasn't interested in him anymore. The things that he said were gross. But I could tell he was extremely nervous- even more than I was.
We mostly hung out at my house, since my mom was still on her business trip, and we enjoyed being able to be however loud we wanted, and that couldn't happen at his house. Debbie would always end up telling Marshall to keep it down. That was the polite way for every mom of saying 'both of you are getting on my fucking nerves, so shut the hell up'.
Marshall was at work, but his shift was almost over. We planned on going to Briarwood, a mall in Ann Arbor. It had just over 125 stores in it, and was always packed. I used to go there all of the time with D'Angelo, but I wouldn't Marshall that. I would've gone with Kaitlyn, but she was never very social. That's why Ronnie was her first boyfriend.
Speaking of Kailtyn and Ronnie, she told me a few nights after Marshall and I started dating that the two of them were also constantly hanging out. It was rare to hear her gushing over a boy, so I was actually entertained by the whole thing. She would blab on about him every time we spoke over the phone or met up to do something together. So once Marshall and I began going out, it was my turn to talk constantly about him, sometimes going on for minutes at a time.
As I finished tying my sneakers, I heard Marshall's ringtone chime. I picked it up beside me and tapped the answer button, pressing the phone to my ear. "Hello?" I answered.
"Hey, baby," he started. I could hear him hop in his car and close the door shut. "I'm on my way home. If you want, you can just go chill at my place until I get there, I'm gonna take a quick shower before we go."
"Is your mom home?" I asked. I didn't have any problem with his mom, but I wasn't going to walk in and wait for him alone with her. As cranky as he spoke of her, she was very sweet to me. I just hoped it wasn't all an act and I would have to find out he was right later.
"No," he confirmed. "It's Friday," he reminded me.
"Oh yeahh," I nodded to myself. Debbie was always gone all day on Friday for bingo. She never won, but Marshall told me the only thing she ever scored were some one night stands. Not something I needed to know.
"Yeah, so just hang out there for a while. I'll be there in like ten minutes," he notified me.
"Okay."
"Aight, bye."
"Bye," I said and retracted the phone from my ear, hanging up and standing from the couch.
Before I left the trailer, I took some money and made sure I had my spare key and cell phone. I opened the door, locked it, and made my way over to Marshall's trailer. I walked right in because they never locked the doors. I don't even know why they bothered to leave the spare key under a stone beneath the kitchen window, because they never needed it.
Once I was inside the trailer, I plopped myself down on the small love seat and just waited for Marshall to get home. I reached for the remote control on the coffee table and clicked on the TV. The Fresh Prince of Bel Air popped up immediately, the catchy theme song in the midst of playing.
