Fills are a very important part of drumming to a song. It keeps the song upbeat and gives the drumming character. The easiest sort of fill to do would be 4 beats on the snare in time with the song. After the 4 snare shots hit the symbol with your right hand and at the same time, hit the base drum with your right foot. After the fill and the symbol shot, continue the song. Remember: Always keep in time. Timing is the most important thing about drums. After mastering the simple 4 beat snare fill, go with the most known fill in most songs. The 4 beats on the snare,4 beats on the high tom, 4 beats on the middle tom, 4 beats on the low tom, and finally, the symbol and bass drum together in time. If you don't know the toms, here is a picture to show you.

The one attached to the bass drum on the very right to the picture is the high tom, the one also attached to the bass drum beside the high tom is the middle tom and the one beside the bass drum is the low tom, or floor tom

Practice as much as you can on these first two chapters before reading the rest, to get used to the drums. Also, make sure to watch videos or if you know any drummers personally, ask them to give you a few pointers. If you can watch YouTube often, make sure to subscribe to and watch "Thedrummingbeat" as he is an amazing drummer and can really help for technique if you watch him.
