Getting Back Together?

Tyler's POV:

Last night after I walked in on Rose and Serene and then Serene explained everything to me, I went straight to bed (after watching about 4 hours of TV). When I woke up the next morning, there were waffles, orange juice, and sausages in a tray on bed side table. I ate the food and it was good, my mom's a good cook. Not that it is anything new for me because she has been a good cook since I was very young. When I checked my phone, I had 10 texts and calls from Lily. Did I miss a date with her, because she only really did this if I had? The last time we talked I was pretty clear that I was going on a date with Serene, Rowan, and Rose last night and we hadn't set any dates for the future. As I was very confused I decided to read through the texts and they went as follows:

Hey Tyler WYD?- 7:30 last night

Hey Tyler!- 7:40 last night

What are you doing?- 8:00 last night

Answer you for phone I know you have it on you. You always have it on you so why aren't you answering me. -8:03 last night

Hey Tyler you want to go to the coffee palace today, I'm free all day?- 9:00 this morning

Then I went downstairs to ask my mom if I could go to coffee palace with  Lily. Hoping, honestly, that she would say no so that I wouldn't have to make up some lame excuse or going and then feel bad about how I really don't want to be there but I am there wasting my time. When I was downstairs, my mom told me that I could go to coffee with Lily or I go to the movies and lunch with Xander, Serene, and Rose. I really didn't want to go to coffee with Lily, but it would be so awkward to go to with them to the movies especially after last night. On the other hand I wouldn't really have to talk to them that much because at the movies you aren't allowed to talk. So I would only have to talk to them for a little bit and at least there would be Xander there too. I told my mom that I will go with them to the movies. Just a couple minutes after telling her, Xander came and we were on the freeway driving to the movies. The car was pretty quiet, every couple minutes Xander would ask something and then me, Serene, or Rose would add something and then it would go back to the awkward silence of before. It was awkward because I knew about Rose and Serene and they knew that I knew. It was so weird because I have never known a lesbian or gay couple before. I've gone to private school since I was 2 and everyone I know is either from church or school. Our school has no gay people and if we do they are all in the closet. Our church and school are both very conservative and in the 50 years that the school has been around not one kid has ever come out. When we finally got to the mall, we decided to go to lunch. It was between Burrito Boss or Priceless Pasta ( The mall loves alliteration). Me and Rose really wanted to go to Burrito Boss and Xander and Serene really wanted to go to Priceless Pasta. We decided to split up, get our food, and meet up at the theater ( which is right in the middle of the food court) 10 minutes before the show. When me and Rose got to the Burrito Boss, there was a line out the door but we waited anyway. I thought that we would just stand there silent, like we had in the car. Then Rose asked "Hey Tyler what are you doing this summer?" I stood there for a second very confused. Wait it was May 20th. Summer was just coming in 2 weeks. I honestly didn't understand why Serene would start school with only 2 weeks left in the year. I will go ask my mom about this because my school is really small, our class has 50 kids, and if she is at school for only two weeks she will have no friends. What woke me up from my thought sleep was when Rose said " Tyler what are you doing this summer?" And I realized that I had been thinking for so long that the line had moved up. I said" I don't really know most summers my parents surprise us with a trip and then we are not on a trip they work, my brother Thomas goes to camps, and I stay home and do whatever I want. What are you doing this summer?"  Rose said" I think I am going to live with my parents and work with them. " I was about to say that I thought that was cool, but it was time to order. So I ordered a chicken burrito bowl with guacamole, chips, and a soda. After we ordered, the waitress gave us a number and two cups. We found a table in the corner and then we walked over to the soda machine. The soda machine is a touch screen machine that has many different soda options and a bunch of fruit flavors. I got a Cherry Vanilla Cola and Rose got a Lime Cherry Cola. We tried each of them. Rose's was awful, she ended up tossing all the soda and getting a raspberry cola. A couple minutes and a few sodas later, the waitress came back with our food. We ate and then walked over to the theaters. As we walked over, I wondered what Serene and Xander were talking about. When we met them, they seemed deep in a conversation about some person. When we walked up, Rose joined in. I guess they were talking about someone that went to their school. It was really interesting when Rose said "Remember when you were "dating" him." Xander replied "Yeah that was before you came to your senses and dated a real man. " This was getting really funny. Rose said " Let's get to the movie. " When she said that, I thought she was going to say something about him not being a real man, but she didn't even though I could see it was killing her she didn't say a peep. I don't understand how at one time they were all best friends. They seemed nothing alike now.
