"You ready?"

"There's only so much I can prepare for, Harry."

"How was it?" Harry asks as we stroll to the car.

"Didn't stutter too badly."

"You think you'll get it?" That one question I can't answer as yet.

"Who knows. I think I went alright but I don't know how the others did so I can't say much."

"So it's for a place working with police officers."

"Yeah."

"That's cool."

"That's what I thought when I decided I'd go to uni. It's less risky than being a policeman."

"You don't get your head blown off?"

"And you don't have to train fitness and stuff."

"Liam's good with that one."

"I hate running but I'm fine with weights. Still works on cardio but it's not half as full on."

"See, if we go to the gym, Liam and I, he makes sandwiches for afterwards."

"Lazy bum."

"Still. All Niall does is sit around, eat, and mope. We cannot forget the moping."

"He's not a moping sort of person, though."

"He is when he's lonely. Pay him a visit at night tonight, when he's asleep. Even when he's sleeping he's restless."

"But he acts all detached from me."

"Ah. He acts. He's only behaving how he is because you've pushed him away so many times he's almost given up."

"Is that a good thing?"

"Is that good?"

"No, I mean, with my sort of goals in mind, is that good?"

"Annie, it's never good when Niall gets detached. He makes friends with everyone, or tries to. At this rate you're going, you won't be speaking to him within a week."

"Which is the problem. Because… even… if it takes 10… 15 years…" I say as I buckle my seatbelt, "he's the only one who can teach me how to love someone," I admit quietly.

"It's taken you a while to figure that one out, hasn't it?"

"You knew?"

"Zayn and Liam saw it first. We haven't told Niall what we thought, okay? You go tell him. He'll be over the potatoes."

"Potatoes?"

"Yeah. Potatoes."

"Well, this is it. Niall's here with Liam. Pay him a visit in his sleep tonight."

"Is there something I should know?"

"Don't tell me you blew your top with him yesterday."

"One could say that," I shrug. He sighs. "Don't tell me you have a grand plan."

"Not a grand plan, just hoping you'd see something, both of you. We only just convinced him the other week you weren't that bad. That's why he began to ignore you and shut you out."

"That takes a lot of badass."

"He called you a heartbreaker. Which, no matter how you rationalise it, it's true."

"I was concerned about what the fans would say, selfish or not. The problem is that I start acting funny, Niall gets concerned and loses followers on Twitter because of me like Zayn did because he couldn't stay in America."
