2 - Interrogation

Steve's POV

I was sitting in a room processing everything, when Nick Fury walked into my room. "I know you just woke up but we need you to interrogate someone, we have a feeling she will trust you." "What makes you think that?" I ask. "She also just woke up and has been asleep for about as long as you have, but she says that it is against the law to tell a human about herself or something called 'Aewyna'. There is also the fact that she said that she woke you up." I look up at Fury and he looks serious, so I agree.

Fury leads me to a room and tells me that the girl is in there, and walks to a door next to it so he can watch through the glass. I open the door and walk in. she smiles at me from the other side of the table. "What's your name?" I ask, trying to be nice.

"Vana Lynn"

"That's a pretty name" I say and smile back at her.

"Vana means princess and Lynn means waterfall" she says proudly.

"So, I heard that you said that you woke me up, you want to tell me about that?"

"I'm only allowed to tell you so much." She says and it looks like she wants to tell me everything.

I motion my hand forward, telling her to tell me. "I'm Vana Lynn, princess of Aewyna. I was asleep, when my sister found me and gave me a potion to wake me up. We were leaving this place when I sensed you trying to wake up, begging to wake up, so I told her to go on without me, that I would meet her at the closest beach. She left and I found you, I knew the pain of trying to wake up, I had just woken up also, I didn't want you to suffer anymore, so I woke you up."

I just stare ate her. How did she know I was begging to be woken up? "H-how did you sense me asking to be woken up?" I question.

"See this is something I am only aloud to tell people whose wish I have granted. Where I am from royalty has different blood than everyone else, each person born into a royal family is born with a gift. Mine is that I can grant someone a wish if I want to and if I am touching them, however I can only grant each person one wish."

I just stare at her, she is crazy, and she is talking crazy. She looks at my face and I have a feeling she can tell that I don't believe her by the look on my face. "You don't believe me?" she asks, confirming my belief. I shake my head no.

"I can prove it if you like, bring in someone, and while you're out there I'm a bit thirsty I could use some water." She says and starts doing something with her hands. I get up and walk out.

Vana's POV

I tell Orabel that I got caught but I have a plan and I will be home in no time. When the door opens Steve walks in with the guy from earlier. They sit down across from me and Steve puts a cup of water in front of me. I smirk then look to the other guy. "I never got your name."

"Nick Fury" he says.

"So Nick, I want you to wish for something right now anything." I say and he just looks at me. I begin to feel him wishing, he wishes to know everything about Aewyna.

"You wish to know everything about Aewyna, but I can't tell you that and I only grant wishes if I want to so try again." I say, his face showed surprise for a second then went back to being blank.

I could feel it, his wish. Now he wishes that his daughter were here right now. I smile at him. "That's a beautiful wish and actually my mother is wishing the exact same thing right now, however I cannot grant her wish for I cannot touch her and if I could then she wouldn't be wishing for that now would she." I say and I smile at him.

I reach my hand out. "May I?" I ask him and he puts his hand in mine.

I will his daughter to appear in the room, then let go. We sit there for about two minutes, no one saying anything until I pipe up. "Three...Two...One" and all of a sudden, Poof, his daughter appears in the room. Fury stands up, and starts freaking out, while Steve just stands there amazed. I then start to control the water from the cup Steve brought me. I shape it into a flower, and then freeze it, and then I gloss it so it doesn't melt, and make it go over to the little girl standing in the room, watching her dad cry. I look at him.

"You should know that it's harder to bring back the dead than it is to do anything else, and if I weren't trying to prove to you that I grant wishes then I would not have done it."

"How long will she be alive like this again?" he asks his voice shaky. I smile at him in a friendly way.

"Until she dies again." He walks out of the room with the little girl. Steve looks at me.

"Is there any way you could tell me about Aewyna?" I give him a sad smile.

"No, I really want to tell you, just as I really want to know about your world, but I am not allowed to by the law."

"Can you at least tell me why you have a law that forbids you to tell us?" Steve asks hopefully.

"It is because when your people knew we existed 5,000 years ago you hunted us, we were being captured by humans and forced to be their slaves. We are afraid." He just looks at me confused.

"So where you're from there aren't people that are bad, or who break the laws," he asks me curiously.

"Well of course there are."

"Well that's the same for humans, there are good people and there are bad people."

"Yeah I know that, we all know that. The reason we have that law is because we're afraid of the bad ones, not everyone. We don't want to be discovered because we don't want to be slaves."

"The world has changed a lot in 5,000 years. We could work with you to make laws that make it illegal to enslave your kind. You haven't given us a chance; there are new people in charge. We could make peace between our two peoples." Steve said, and he had a good point.

"I can't do anything from here. And as far as my family knows, I have been held captive for 70 years by humans. I haven't had a chance to talk to them, to explain. And even if I did maybe tell my sister and she tells my parents, you technically are holding me here now. I can't even move from this table." I say pulling my wrist up, tugging at the metal thing. "Unless you let me go, I can't do anything. I have wanted to learn about humans for as far back as I can remember, but I have been forced to put that craving aside and live my life. If I could just get back home I could do something, and help our worlds come together. But what you are doing to me is what has been done to my kind in the past. They were chained, and held hostage until they were needed for their abilities or their blood."

"Wait, why their blood?"

I lean across the table and wisper to him "Our blood can be given to another and they will temporarily have our abilities. You can't tell anyone about that."

"Wouldn't dream of it." He reassured me."I'm going to talk to Fury, wait here."
