Samara's POV
"Is the cake hidden away in the backroom?"
"Yes, Nikki."
"And the caterers, have they arrived yet?"
"Twenty minutes ago. Just relax Nikki, Trey's going to love it," I said and Nikki nodded as she looked around the room to make sure that nothing was out of place. It was Trey's birthday and Nikki had really outdone herself. She had all of Trey's friends and family members flown in to attend all while Trey had no clue.
"I hope so," she mumbled before turning to me and giving me a hug. "Thank you so much for your help. I couldn't have done it without you."
"No problem Nikki, anytime. You and Trey are family."
"And when August's birthday comes up I'll return the favour," she said with a smile and I shook my head.
"I'm sure you will."
"Since we're on the topic of August, when are going to stop playing hard to get?"
"What?"
"Oh come on Samara, don't play dumb. Everyone can clearly see that you and August have a little flirtation game going on."
"Since when was my love life the topic of discussion?" I asked and Nikki shrugged not bothering to answer. "Hows the wedding planning going?"
"Amazing actually. Trey and I finally came to an agreement on where we'll be having the wedding and almost all the details."
"That's great Nik," I said and she smiled. "So where are you two getting married?"
"Trey and I decided we wanted to get married at the community center where we had our first date and he proposed."
"Awe. That's so cute."
"Yeah and a week before the wedding all the bridesmaids and groomsmen are going to spend a week in the Bahamas for our bachelorette party"
"Sounds good to me. Do you need me to do anything else?"
"Yeah, could you grab the bag of ice from the freezer for the drinks, they're starting to melt." I headed to the kitchen and went straight for the freezer before I began digging for the bag of ice. Once I felt the cold ice against my fingertips I smiled and quickly pulled the bag but it didn't budge. I struggled as I continued to pull before freezing at the sound of a voice.
"Na' ain't this a view?" August's said with a chuckle before continuing. "The things I could do to ya in that position."
"Nice to see you too August. Can I get a little help, the ice is stuck."
"Fa'sho," August said and I took a step back so he could get the ice. I waited against the wall as August took off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves before leaning in and reaching to grab the bag. It didn't take him long to grab it but I couldn't help but bite my lip at how sexy he looked. Snap out of it girl!
"Here ya go."
"Thanks, August."
"Shit I got another way fa' you to thank me."
"Still with the jokes I see."
"Ion know how many times I gotta tell ya ass I ain't playin'. When you fuck wit a nigga like me there ain't no games, just a whole lotta moaning."
"Prove it then."
"What?" August asked a little shocked and I couldn't help but smirk. I knew he was all talk.
"I said prove it then. For weeks you've been walking around telling me you that you're the man then prove it." August took slow steps towards me and I fought hard to continue looking brave while my heart was beating rapidly against my chest. He stopped right in front of me before he turned me around and gripped my ass with both of his hands.
