"So she's still mad?" Trey asked as we watched play at the park. Two weeks had passed and Nedra was still mad. No matter how I tried to explain it to her all she saw was that I took Samara away from her. Trust me, if I could have her back, I would.

"Yup. Yesterday I tried to defuse the situation by buying her the doll set she's been begging for but she didn't even look at it."

"Damn," he said with a whistle. "She really is mad at you."

"Yeah and I don't know what to do. I apologized. All it seems to do is just make her more upset."

"And you haven't heard from Samara?"

"Not even a text. Ion know how shit got so fuckin messed up. One minute I have life perfectly figured out and the next it's all messed up."

"Maybe it's a good thing you haven't seen her yet."

"How you figure that?"

"Well, there are some things you still need to set straight. Like that Hailey chick."

"Nah I got her handeled."

"You did?" Trey asked and I nodded.

"Yeah, she came by the house a few weeks ago and we talked," I explained. Well, we did a little more than talk.

"What happened?"

"Well..."

"You know what, I do think we have something to discuss," I told her causing her to grin. "Come on in."  She walked into the house with a seductive twist to her hips and I shook my head before closing the door. I had to do this.

"Sit down."

"You want me on the couch August," she asked biting her lip.

"Yes." Smiling, she laid down on the couch and beckoned me to come with her finger.

"Hailey sit up."

"What?" She asked confused.

"We need to talk."

"Fuck talking. I want to fuck," she said, dropping her coat and strutting over to where I was, running her hand down my chest.

"Hailey chill with all that."

"Why August?"

"Because I'm not interested in you like that."

"You were before."

"Yeah I was but not anymore."

"I don't get it August. What changed you?" She asked before continuing. "Or should I say who changed you?"

"Hailey look--"

"Now I get it. The reason you knew it was me immediately at the door. The reason you told me no when I was your stripper. You literally don't want anyone other than Samara."

"That's what I've been trying to say."

"So where is this lucky woman?"

"I don't know. She ain't talkin' to me."

"What?"

"Yeah. We haven't talked since the wedding."

"Why?"

"Well she wants a relationship and I don't. Those shit don't last. And your little convo with her didn't help ease her mind."

"I'm really sorry about that but I'm confused. You don't want a relationship. But you don't want to be with anyone else. And you don't want anyone else."
