Jacob

"Is this your boyfriend," asked Aaron's dad.

I found out his name was Antonio.

He was a handsome Hispanic man with nicely bearded facial hair, and a short haircut adorning his jet black curly hair. He was well muscled, but looked like out of the two men, he was the bottom.

"Something like that," Aaron replied, staring down at me and running his fingers through my hair.

"Mmhmm," hummed the other man, Marius.

He was handsome as well. He was caramel complected with a shaved head and well lined beard and goatee that was more organized than Antonio's wild scruff. His dark brown orbs seemed to bore into my soul as he scrutinized me.

"Be nice, Marius, he is our guest. So what's your name," Antonio asked, taking a seat on a chair that was across from the couch.

I sat up from Aaron's chest and moved further down the couch.

"Jacob, sir," I said, speaking for the first time since they came.

"Mmm, so you're Jacob? Our son talks about you a lot," Antonio smirked at Aaron.

"Really?"

"Yep," Marius nodded.

"All good things I'd hope," I chuckled.

"Most of the time, except for that day you beat him up," Antonio replied, shrugging.

I felt myself blush slightly.

"I'm going to go shower and then start dinner," Antonio said, exiting the room with Marius following behind him.

"So, two dads huh," I teased, "yet you acted like you hated gay people."

Aaron shrugged, turning on the tv.

He didn't seem to excited to see his parents honestly.

"Are you alright," I asked, touching his arm.

He nodded, "Yea, I'm fine."

That night at dinner was comfortable, until it took a left.

"So how long will you be staying," Marius asked the same time as Aaron asked, "Can he stay?"

Marius turned to Aaron.

"Can he stay," he repeated, crossing his arms, "won't his parents be worried about where he is?"

"That's the problem. He has a lot going on at home right now. They wouldn't mind him being gone, trust me."

"Aaron, I don't think that's a good idea," Marius said.

"But-," Aaron began.

"Aaron, it's fine. I need to go home anyway. Thank you guys for letting me stay this long," I said sadly, plastering a grin on my face.

"Marius, we should let him stay," Antonio said, placing his hand on Marius' arm.

"We cannot do that."

"But daddy-," Aaron protested.

"No, we don't know him. We don't know his parents. Do they even know he's here?"

"No, and trust me, we need to keep it that way," Aaron replied.

"Why," Antonio frowned, concerned.

"Cause they're-," Aaron began.

"No Aaron, it's fine," I said.

I scooted from the table and went to Aaron's room to begin packing my stuff.

I could hear Aaron following behind me.

"Jacob, Jacob, don't go," Aaron said, grabbing my arm.

I wrenched away, "I can't stay. You and I both know that. Besides, I'm gonna have to face my mother and my problems eventually. Thanks for letting me stay this past week."

"Jacob, if you go back there, I'll call the police," Aaron said seriously.

I froze in my midst of packing.

I turned to look at him.

"So be it then."

I zipped my bags and brushed past him and out the door.

I could feel everyone in the house staring after me.

I continued walking in the humid, hot weather even though I was dying inside.

I can't go home. I refuse to do that.

I turned the corner, hopping the gate of the local park and sat down on a bench, putting my bags next to me.

I'll sleep here. Not safe, but at this point, I don't care. Anything can kill me. It'd be better than living.

Using one of my bags as a pillow, I sank down, laying my head on it.

Sleep was evading me, so I gazed at the stars for several minutes, hoping watching the sky roll like a mobile would make me tired.

I couldn't sleep though.

My nerves were too frazzled.

The sound of cars pulling into the parking lot made me frown.

I turned over, being nosy.

A black Chrysler 300 pulled into the parking space.

The license plate read MEDIC.

I frowned.

That's my dad's license plate. It's 12 o' clock at night. What is he doing here?

Getting up from the bench, I crept towards the car, ducking down behind trees and bushes.

I saw two people in the car, one of which most definitely was not my mother or anybody else I knew for that matter.

It was another man actually.

I saw my father and the man through the window, and then, what happened next made me want to gouge my eyeballs out.

My father leaned over and kissed the man.

The man who looked eerily familiar.

I'd seen him often from going to work with my dad in the summer.

It was Mr. Pryor!
