Kyler
After my little struggle with the tent, I figured out Miranda was okay, and Jacob and kalyn were to. We all sat around a small little fire and watched the sun finish its path of rising. No one really talked, but I thought about it many times. We ate our food quietly, and then Jacob finally decided to speak up.
"So how has everyone's day been?" He asked curiosly looking around at the group.
"We just got up!" Kalyn snapped.
"Sorry, that was rude, I just didn't sleep very well, I'm just tired, Um how did everyone else sleep?"
"I slept pretty good!" I piped up. " I had this really good dream where me and my old boy-"
"No one cares," Jacob interuptted.
"Hey that was rude!"
"Kyler, frankly, we heard enough about Troy before we ran away, we don't really need to hear about him here, especially scince we did all of this to start new. So because nobody want's to talk, I am going to assign jobs; Jacob you and me will go out and search for water, and maybe possible campsites, Kalyn and Kyler you go gather fire woods, and make sure to look where animals spend lots of time so we can hunt go," Miranda finished talking, stood up, grabbed Jacob's arm and was gone.
"Well lets go!" Kalyn said
I stood up and we both walked out towards the woods.
"Hey kyler," kalyn asked questionably. "Did you really want to run away."
I thought about it for a moment, and a few more and came up with this:
"Well I guess I can' t change it now, so why bother with worrying about if I should have done it or not, I think in the long run this might be fun. I mean who knows maybe this can bring all of us together, and we will get found and this experience will change us for the better.
Kalyn looked at me with her eye brows raised.
"What?"
"I think you watched too much Dr. Phil or something," She said, bending down to pick up a small dried out log.
"Maybe,". I looked around and Joined her in picking up logs and broken twig, and soon me and Kalyn had a pretty good pile of sticks that would last us a day or two.
"Ready to go back to camp," I asked, stretching out the soreness in my back, from bending over.
"I think so, I wonder if Miranda and Jacob are back yet," We both started heading back to camp. The whole time neither of us talked much. But I was pretty sure that, Kalyn hated me and I had no idea why. Maybe it was because we fought a litle bit when we were in school. I mean I didn't mean to start a rumor about her, it just kinda slipped out. I smiled, my word choice was a little......I don't know but, she got mad at me, but all that matters is that Jacob enjoys talking to me. Kalyn hasn't told anyone about the "Rumor". I Scared her out of it.
"What are you grinning at," she snapped at me.
"Oh just the fake little rumor, I started about you," I snapped back with a hint of sarcasm in my voice. Kalyn stopped in her tracks, and dropped the fire wood that was in her arms.
"what? Maybe you could say that a little more clearly," I cleared my voice loudly, and said:
"I was thinking about the rumor I started about you,". Next thing I knew, I was on the ground with a bloody nose.
"and I was just thinking about how lame of fighter you are! You know what KYler maybe you should just leave because frankly I am just so sick and tired of you bitchin around thinking y ou are better then everyone else! I am gonna go get some more fire wood and head back to camp. When I get there, and I see you there, I will....." She trailed off.
"You will what!" I said in a sneer tone. "kill me,"
"MAYBE," She screamed as she ran deeper into the woods. I rolled my eyes and stood up.
"shes not actually going to kill me," I said aloud as I started heading back to camp thinking I never should have done this.
"I pretty much had a perfect life," I thought.
"Oh well, now I have a bleeding nose, a brusied back, and a hurt ego, and what do I have to show for it??? Well pretty much I have ran away with a group of friends that hate me,"
My train of thought stopped as I hear a few branches break to my left. I looked and saw a dark figgure standing behind a tree.
"Kalyn! That better not be you! I So am not in the mood," I yelled as I countined walking. I turned back and saw that the figure was walking toward me. His eyes looked black, and his face was shadowed by a small cloak that fell lightly over his fore head. He looked six foot six inches, and muscular. The thing that got to me the most was his smile. Not much of one, more like a sneer that covered his face. It was almost devilish, and not in the good way. I dropped the wood that I had recovered and started running, hoping that my softball experince would give me the uperhand, and I would be able to outrun this freak.
I was sadly mistaken. Right when I started to run, the man sprinted after me, and had his arm on my shoulder in a few seconds. A small scream escaped from my mouth before I was knocked out cold.
