It's crazy how much power words hold. They can make your day.

But they can also break it.

They can take you to the highest highs. But they can also make you feel the lowest lows.

Most of the times we don't even realize the merciless power held by the simple syllables we utter, we don't see the unintentional effect they have on others. We fail to ascertain the damage we might be causing with our verbal weapons.

And sometimes we think we're building wonders, but in reality we're breaking them down.

Our words have the strength of act like a wreaking ball for someone's happiness, for someone's confidence, for someone's inner strength, and sometimes for the person's soul.

How carelessly we throw around our words, not caring whether they become piercing daggers or glorifying laurels.

We don't look back. We don't think twice.

Speak. Speak. Speak.

Whatever is on our mind first, it's out of our mouth next.

If only we'd stop and think our words through. If only we'd try and understand the damage they might do.

But we don't even try. We don't even care.

We just walk around armed heavily with our swords of destruction, ready to slice down the forts and armors that people put up to protect themselves, to save themselves. Our onslaught chops it all down. We raze emotions and feelings to the ground. We burn the pyres of someone's strength and courage and strangely we don't even see it happening.

Oblivious to all the damage and destruction left in the wake of our actions, or rather our words, we march on.

We're like Category 5 hurricanes. Like earthquakes that collapse buildings. That only leave behind tears and broken hearts.

Like a door slam, words can shatter hearts. A million broken shards on the floor, left to the mercy of a broom, ready to sweep the trash away. Because, after all, we've treated their courage and dignity like trash with our ruthless words.

Just take care.

Words hold immense power.

Use them wisely.
