Dani awoke to the sound of her alarm blaring from her phone. She quickly turned it off and scrambled out of her bed. She went to the bathroom and then went downstairs where she heard people talking in the living room.
"Finally you're woke! Dani come meet our new neighbor, Jade. She lives next door," Lauren said cheerfully.
"Oh, uhm, hey I'm Dani."
"Hi Dani! My whole name (I know that's not her WHOLE name) is Jade Thirlwall. I met your older sister while I was taking out the trash. I didn't know anymore young people lived around here."
"You have an accent-"
"Oh yeah I grew up in England. You all grew up in California, right?"
"Yeah we did. So Jade do you wanna go with me to the store? My moms making spaghetti tonight."
"Sure I'll go with you!"
"Let me throw some clothes on, I'll go too!" Dani exclaimed.
"No it's okay Dan, Jade is gonna come with me."
Dani looked hurt by Lauren's words but acted as if it didn't hurt her. As soon as Lauren and Jade left for the store, Dani sat down on the couch and stared off into space. Katherine came down the stairs and looked at Dani like she was crazy.
"Dani, you okay?"
"I'm okay Kath. Did you meet our new neighbor, Jade?"
"Oh yeah! She's so cute and funny! Her and Lauren really hit it off."
Lisa came from outside sweating and greeted her sister's with a smile.
"Just came from a jog Lise?" asked Katherine as she made herself comfortable on the couch next to Dani.
"Yup. Won't be doing that ever again! I still can't breathe!" Lisa answered as she made her way up the stairs.
"Something about her seems a bit, off to me though Kath."
"Dani, you just met her. Give her a chance, I'm sure that feeling will go away."
"Yeah, you're probably right."
Dani still had a bad feeling about the girl. Something seemed off about her. Her kindness seemed really....forced and fake.
The Cimorelli's had moved to a new town to start over. Their parents were hardly ever home and neither were their brothers. Dani was the only one that was still in school and she started school in less than a week and her nerves were bad. Maybe that's why she had a bad feeling about the girl, she was just overthinking it because she was on edge about school, right?

"Dani get the hell up!" Christina yelled at a still sleeping Dani.Dani didn't move. Christina walked over to the bed and hit Dani with a pillow until she woke up yelling at her.
"Stop it Chrissy, damn!"
"Get up then! You have to be to school in half an hour. I don't feel like driving you!"
"Well don't then! Shit..."
Dani slid out of the bed and quickly got ready for school before she bolted downstairs to see a tired looking Christina standing by the door.
"Lets go. I might have to break the speed limit to get you there on time."
Dani rolled her eyes before she left out of the door.
Once Christina dropped her off and said her goodbyes, Dani slowly walked into the building. She didn't see any familiar faces until she saw a short girl with sandy blonde hair.
"Hey Ally!" Dani screeched.
"Oh hey neighbor! Didn't know you were going to this school."
"Yeah, and I haven't seen you in a week, what's up with that?"
"Busy working. So you're a senior huh?"
"Yup. We both are. What class do you have first?"
"Math. Super boring but at least the teacher is hot!"
"Wait, who's the teacher?"
"Ms. Edwards. She's nice too, so you don't have to worry about her being mean to you."
"Did you meet the other girl that moved on our street, Jade?"
"No. Why?"
"I met her like two days ago and her and Lauren are like inseparable."
"Oh, I might have to introduce myself after school. You have math first hour too?"
"Yeah."
"Well come one before we're late!"
Ally grabbed Dani's hand and ran to math class. When they got in the room, the other kids were starting to get calm and in their seats.
"Okay class, quiet down," said Ms. Edwards, her voice booming over everyone elses.
"Damn, she is hot. You weren't lying."
"Yes, and that accent? God let me fan myself," Ally started fanning herself with a notebook making Dani chuckle.
"I'm going to do roll now so when you hear your name, say here."
She did roll and everyone was talking quietly while she did so. Dani stared out of the window and her heart jumped a little when she saw Jade standing outside the window. She furrowed her eyebrows and kept looking. Jade smiled at her and walked away.
"Excuse me, do we have a Danielle Cimorelli here?" Ms. Edwards said.
A curly headed boy hit Dani's desk, making her jump and look at him.
"Are you Danielle?" he asked.
"Yeah why?"
"The teacher said your name like a million times," he chuckled.
"Oh sorry, I'm here! I'm Danielle."
Ms. Edwards raised an eyebrow at Dani and smirked at her before she continued to call roll.
"Well I'm Troye. I'm new here too."
"Oh, hi Troye."
"Hey Troye, I'm Allyson but people just call me Ally."
Dani couldn't focus on anything Ms. Edwards was saying because she was still thinking about why Jade was standing outside her classroom window. She knew something was off about her when she met her a few days ago.
"Excuse me, Danielle?"
Dani looked up to see Ms. Edwards standin next to her desk.
"Yeah?"
"I told everyone to write down ten things about themselves. You still haven't taken out any paper."
"Oh. I'm sorry."
Ally gave Dani a sad look before she went back to her paper. Troye smiled at her and continued his paper. The room grew quiet as everyone did what they were told, but Dani still couldn't focus. Why was Jade standing outside of the window? Was she just trying to scare her? Seriously, what was her deal?
