Was Suicide Squad worth it?

Well, I had the honor of seeing the highly anticipated movie Suicide Squad last Saturday. And... lemme tell you some things. Most people actually hated it. But will my opinion be the same? Only one way to find out

I'm going to be covering the basic storyline first for those coming into the DC universe blind and then I'll get to my opinions (what I liked, what I thought should've been added, etc...)

BASIC STORYLINE

Figuring they're all expendable, a U.S. intelligence officer decides to assemble a team of dangerous, incarcerated supervillains for a top-secret mission. Now armed with government weapons, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc and other despicable inmates must learn to work together. Dubbed Task Force X, the criminals unite to battle a mysterious and powerful entity, while the diabolical Joker launches an evil agenda of his own.

What I thought

Honestly... I was a little bit disappointed with this movie. I mean don't get me wrong, this was a great film but I was just a little disappointed. At least most of the footage from the trailers never made it (such as the part in the Blitz trailer where Harley asks everyone what they want to drink) into the final cut of the film and at least one of the major characters (The Joker) only had a little over ten minutes of screen time. The movie did have potential to be one of the best films of 2016, but the cast said they had to reshoot a lot of the scenes, which just made it sucky to begin with. And the music promoted for the movie (Heathens, Sucker For Pain, and Purple Lamborghini) didn't play until the end credits of the movie along with Bohemian Rhapsody and some of the scenes from the official trailer

But, personally, I loved it. Like, this was the first time I saw Harley in an actual DC movie and they made every detail of her personality and her back story count... like they weren't fucking around with this stuff. Also Batman himself got a few cameos in the movie too, so plus points for that

Overall, I think I gave Suicide Squad an 8/10.
