Mikayla and her friend McKenna were walking in Central Park, New York. They had long black coats on, with grey jogger pants and black Nike running shoes. There's a slight chilly breeze from the north. It's a cloudy day, almost looks like it's going to rain outside. The trees are dancing in the wind. Swaying side to side. The grass dancing alongside the trees. Mikayla's friend McKenna, who is blonde, with blue eyes. She wears a decent amount of makeup to cover up her wrinkles that lie beneath her pounds of makeup.
"So McKenna have you heard the good news?" Mikayla said.
McKenna looks aside to her right where Mikayla is walking.
"What are you talking about? There hasn't been any good news since James passed,"
Mikayla and McKenna continue walking, but Mikayla is excited to tell the good news to McKenna. Mikayla has a cheesy smile on her face. She's staring continuously at McKenna so McKenna can hear the good news.
"You know I won't stop staring at you until you let me tell you the good news, right?"
Then McKenna stops walking faces Mikayla with one hand on her hip.
"Alright you rascal, you got my attention. What is it?"
Then Mikayla pulls out a small envelope from her coat pocket and hands it to McKenna.
"This is what I've been waiting to tell you all morning,"
Then McKenna takes the envelope and unfolds it and takes the piece of paper out of the crumpled envelope.
"Would you care if I read it out loud? I read better when I read it out loud,"
"Oh yes of course. Go ahead. I haven't read it yet. I'm curious to what it says,"
McKenna looks at Mikayla in shock. McKenna puts her hand over her mouth and looks at Mikayla once again.
"You won't believe who wrote this letter,"
Mikayla looks down, almost as if she's upset and angry.
"Dammit Michael. I knew something was up with his Science grade,"
McKenna examines the letter's author more closely.
"Um Mikayla the letter was written by someone with the last name of Bennett. Any idea who that could be? Do you know him personally or something?"
Mikayla looks directly at McKenna and demands the piece of paper to be handed over to her. McKenna then hands over the note.
"Give me that!" Mikayla said.
"Here take it. I wasn't interested in reading it anyways. But, what if the guy is sexy and has a nice body?"
"Oh shut up McKenna. I know that you like to go through guys like ice cream bars,"
McKenna gives Mikayla an angry look.
"Ugh. Damn I know I need to stop that huh?"
"Well I'm not saying you're desperate for a new guy every week, I'm just saying you date one guy for a week, then you break up with him and then move onto another man. I think the last man you dated was named David right?"
McKenna looks down and puts her eyes over her face. She starts crying.
"I know, okay? I know that I'm a man whore. It's just I need to find the right man you know?"
"Oh don't cry McKenna. I'm here for you. But you do know that David was pretty hot right?"
Mikayla steps over to McKenna and gives her a hug to sooth her sadness.
"It's like what you said. Just you need time to find the right man. And the system that you have going seems to be working. I mean look at all the contacts you have saved in your phone? There must be at least twenty-five phone numbers in there of your ex- boyfriends, right?"
McKenna chuckles and corrects Mikayla.
"Actually there's thirty-two contacts. I may or may not have told you about Mitchell right?"
"Well enough of this nonsense, read the damn letter already. It's cold and we're just standing in the middle of Central Park,"
"Okay, okay. This is what it says,"
-----------------------------------------------
Dear Mikayla,
Surprise, I'm alive. If you haven't guessed, it's your presumed to be dead husband James. It's been awhile since we've seen each other huh? I think it's been almost six to eight months hasn't it? I haven't been counting. But anyways, I need your help. This letter barely got passed the chief guard named Sam Healy. Just yesterday, I was beaten up by Bennett and Mendes, two other guards that co-work with Healy. But Bennett and Mendes are actually undercover United Kingdom Government Agents. They said they had to beat me up to impress the boss. They said that if Healy found out that I wasn't beaten up, then he'd do it himself and he wouldn't have been lenient as the other boys were. The younger men say that we're on Honolulu, Hawaii. But it's hard to tell when I'm stuck in a cell twenty four seven, you know? Well, before I go, I need you to do me a big favor alright? Rescue me and the others. Help Mendes and Bennett take down Healy.
Sincerely,
James
---------------------------------------
P.S: Healy won't be alone. He said he sent the letter to you so you'd come and get me. I believe it's a set up. Whatever you do, be careful. I don't want you to end up in prison for no reason like I did. I love you Mikayla. I'm sure you'll know what to do. Assemble a team, fly out here, and get me the hell out of here.
---------------------------------------
McKenna snatches the letter out of Mikayla's hand and looks at the back of the note.
"We've got to do this. It'll be fun,"
Mikayla looks at McKenna and states the following.
"And pricy! You know how much fuel is for a plane? And we have to cover the cost of the plane. Me and you can't do this alone. I already have two boys that I have to support,"
McKenna steps back and puts her hands out in front of her.
"Talk to the hand. You're doing it. You're saying you don't want to rescue your husband? That's not the Mikayla I know. We'll assemble a team. A team of friends. In fact, I know who we can take with us to cover the costs and such,"
"And, who may that be?" Mikayla asked.
"It could be Sasha, one of my best friends who've you met like once, Joan your son's Science teacher, and last Rebeca, your friend. And, the best thing about Rebecca is that she takes Taekwondo. So she can kick some major ass. And give good ass whoop ins too. As for Joan and Sasha, they can tag along to help us fight the guards,"
"That sounds like a good idea. But wait, does any of these gal's have their private pilot's license? I ask because before you rent a plane, they ask for identification and proof of your flying license,"
McKenna gives Mikayla a smirky look.
"Really Mikayla. With how advanced our technology is today, I'm sure we'll think of something, hint hint," McKenna said.
"You don't mean. You mean make a fake pilots license and identification card?"
"Duh, that's what I was trying to hint at you, but you weren't listening,"
"Alright, you got me. I'm in. Now we just have to assemble the team, make the identification card and license card, rent a private mini airplane, buy fuel, and embark on the fifteen and half hour flight to Honolulu, Hawaii. Sounds like a plan McKenna. Let's get to it," McKenna said.
And little did McKenna, Mikayla and the team know, is that they were about to embark on a journey that would change everybody's lives forever.
