Jack walked into King's Cross Station and gasped. It was huge! He tried to make his way to barrier between platforms 9 and 10, like the letter he'd gotten had told him to.
Of course, maneuvering through a large crowd wasn't exactly difficult for him, as people sort of... walked through him. Literally. It was as if he didn't exist.
Once he'd reached the barrier, he looked back towards the entrance. This was his last chance to turn back... If he went on, he was stuck at this place for the next seven years.
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Okay. I can do this. No big deal. When he opened his eyes again, he saw a girl had came up to the entrance and was staring out at the people, overwhelmed, like he'd been. Her head turned, and he saw she had deep brown eyes.
They met his.
He took a sharp breath. She could see him! He knew it! There was no way she hadn't seen him. Before anything else could happen, a huge group of people walked between them, and he took the opportunity to travel through the barrier.
When he got onto Platform 9 3/4, as the ticket put it, he had to stop and stare. A huge scarlet train was stopped in the station with the words "The Hogwarts Express" on it. "Woah..." he whispered.
Then he remembered. Oh! Right. Other people have to get through... And I'm not invisible here. He barely noticed the strange looks he got for his snow-white hair. He was just happy to be seen for once.
He saw a girl with crazy red hair being told off by her mom. "Merida, you have to take it."
"I don't want it, Mum. I'm never gonna wear it!"
He laughed as he walked into the train. Maybe this would turn out fun, after all.

Hiccup and Astrid said goodbye to their parents and quickly got onto the train. "So... Should we find a compartment?" he asked.
"No. You should go find a compartment. I already know where I'm going." She stalked off towards Fishlegs and the others.
"Right, then! I'll uh... I'll catch up with you later, then!" She didn't even turn around. "Or not." He sighed. Well. This is shaping up to be a great year, he thought sarcastically.
Then he turned to find a compartment. Most of them were already full of people, so he had to go all the way towards the back of the train before he found a place to sit.
"Uh... Hey-" he began.
The girl cut him off. "Nobody else sitting in here. It's all yours..." She sounded upset about something.
"Thanks," he said. Then he attempted to haul his trunk up onto the shelf.
The girl let out a small chuckle. "Do you want some help with that?"
"Yes, please."
She came over and easily placed the heavy trunk on the shelf, her frizzy red hair got everywhere.
"Phfft. Bleh!" Hiccup spit it out of his mouth. "No offense, but your hair tastes awful."
At that, she burst into laughter. "I know! I'm sorry about it getting all over-"
"No, it's fine," Hiccup said, with a small smile, "I'm not so sure there's anything you can do about it."
They laughed together, and when Hiccup sat down again, he felt that maybe - just maybe - he might've found a friend.

"Remember, Rapunzel. Use the mirror to talk to me, and when you sing to me. I might not need to talk to you every night, or be able to!" The woman rambled on, and Rapunzel found herself wishing she'd get to the point. She really couldn't wait to get on the train! It was so pretty, and she was so excited to go to Hogwarts!!
