The Dragon & His Princess {NaLu story}

9: Negotiating

>Lucy's POV<

I had to find a way to make my father stop this nonsense. The plan was, Natsu & I would fly over to my original home and try to reason with them. In the meantime, King Igneel & the rest of them would prepare for battle in case things don't go are way.

If they would refuse our terms and proceed with war, Natsu would release a roar, signaling it to the others. They said they'd be watching for the signal. If my people do agree, we'll return to the kingdom, unharmed.

Natsu & I were already flying through the air. We finally entered human territory. I guided Natsu to the castle I grew up in. "Wow, your home ain't so bad, Luce." Natsu said.

"Yeah, if only the people who ruled it were too." I replied. Landing on castle grounds, guards quickly surrounded us. Their spears and shield went up.

"Surrender Quickly!" One of the guards spoke. One of them recognized me.

"Princess?! What are you doing with this monster?!"

Natsu Grunted. "Monster?! You wanna run that one by me one more time pal?!"

"Calm down Natsu," I said placing my hand on his chest.

"Take me to my father." I demanded.

"There's no need," a familiar voice spoke behind the wall of guards. "I'm already here." It was dad

"Father,"

"Lucy. What is the meaning of this? Flying in here with a member of one of those Monster people?"  Natsu growled.

"There not monsters!" I yell at him. "They are kind people. They did nothing to you people yet you send this!?" I said taking out the letter in anger.

"What my deceleration of war? They had it coming. First we have to share land that is rightfully ours with them, and then they go ahead and kidnap you, my daughter! And look! Your practically brainwashed!" He yelled out.

"Brainwashed?!" I laughed with anger. "Are you insane?! I left because I didn't want to marry a stranger, just so you can have more money. Your the king! Isn't the money you already have enough?! Forcing me to me marry for your benefit, is cruel. Not to mention you made everyone in this kingdom believe that the people of the dragon calm are monsters when they are not!" I scream out in anger.

"Y-You dare raise your voice at me? I'm your father & king!"

"Father, stop this. Declaring war on those people, will only equal lives in both sides will be lost! You'll cause a pointless slaughter!" 

My father was silent. The guards were silent. I stood there, waiting for his response.

"Very well, I will think about my choice." He says.

"Thank you father,"

"I'll send you my final answer."
And with that, Natsu flew me back to the dragon kingdom.

{TIME SKIP: 5 Days later}

It's been 5 days since I negotiated with my father.  I was getting anxious on what his final decision was. What if my father would disagreed with me? Or did he listen to me as his daughter?

Suddenly there was a knock at the door.

"Come in,"

"Hey Lucy."

"Oh hello Wendy. What's going on?"

"The letter with your fathers final decision came this morning. The king already read it, and told me to show you this." She said handing over the letter. I quietly read it.
I froze.

"This is the only way, huh?" I asked.

"Unfortunately. The king wants to know your response."

".................................... I'll do it. for everybody here I will do it."
