Chapter 18

"Dad? Dad. DAD!"

Danny woke with Dani's voice ringing in his ears. It has been about a week since his family had arrived here in this dimension. Yusei still had his stitches in, but was working as hard as ever. Tucker had been helping him with some of his jobs and even surprised the older teen with his tech skills.

The shiny Umbreon let out a groan and opened his eyes. Dani was staring at him, eyes sparkling in excitement. She wanted him to help her with her ice abilities. It was perfect timing, too. Yusei and Tucker were currently working on a home call. Sam was off with the twins and their friend, Akiza, learning more about the Crimson Dragon. Crow and Jack were, also, at their jobs. This left Danny and Dani alone in the apartment.

He pushed himself off the floor and led her to the garage. The flash of her rings caught his attention. He turned around, his eyes meeting her toxic greens. Danny felt a smile tug on his lips, then let his own rings wash over him and his body temperature dropping even lower.

"Do you remember what I told you last time?" She nodded. "Okay. Then let's see how much you remember." Another nod. She closed her eyes and focus, her aura changing to a light blue. After a few seconds, a small snowball started to for at her mouth. Then, she fired, sending the ball towards Danny. He dodged it, but the snowball hit the giant metal door, freezing it shut.

"Oops," she said. She turned to the older halfa, who was trying to hold in his snickers. Though, soon, his attempts fail as he burst out in laughter.

"That was actually better than my first try. I ended up freezing a few people from Frostbite's tribe," he said between snickers, "And injuring more than half of them."

He watched his daughter break out laughing, giving him the perfect opportunity to throw a snowball at her. It struck her behind the ear. She looked up, her father was looking the other way. She quickly made another snowball, this one easier than the last, and threw it at Danny. He dodged it. Soon, they were in an all out snowball fight. The garage was covered in a thick layer of snow, along with an ice rink.

They played for a few hours, only stopping when Yusei and Tucker walked through the door, jaws dropping at the sight. The halfas could only break out laughing for the umpteenth time today. Tucker shook his yellow head and jumped into a snow pile, followed by his niece. The only sign of their presence was Dani's dancing, black tail tip.

Yusei smiled, brushed snow off of the couch and sat down. He pulled out his phone and called Akiza to come over with the twins and Sam.

After a few minutes, the twins opened the door, dressed in their winter clothes. Leo stepped onto the ice sheet and slipped, heading face first into a snow pile. Luna, however, was smarter and walked in the snow.

Sam quickly spotted Dani's tail tip and trotted over. Too bad, she didn't know Tucker was under with Dani. The Jolteon jumped out of the snow pile and tackled his friend to the ground. Sam gave him a death look.

"You have five seconds to get off me and run." the tech-geek started to scramble off her and made a run for a snow bank.

Everyone played in the snow for a few hours until Jack and Crow got home. Then everything got hectic. Jack didn't want to play in the snow, so Crow decided to put a snow ball down his jacket. That turned into a chase Crow didn't regret. Weather they were chased or playing, everyone played in the snow until it melted.
