Charlotte's POV

One week later

A week after Lyanna texted me, Hale told me that his friend had recieved the money. I was ready to get it. I continued to clean the kitchen and waited for Laura to say it was time for me to go shopping. An hour later, she ordered me to leave. I grabbed my purse and hurried to the super market. Sure enough, Dan was there. "Hi, you must be Charlotte." he said, holding out his hand. "And you must be Dan. It's nice to meet you." He pushed back some of his fringe and pulled out what I had came for. "Hale. said to treat this with care. I assume it's important." "If only you knew. Thank you so much. I've been waiting for this for three weeks." "I hope you get home safely. Hale told me about the whole thing with your dad." "Thank you. I hope I do too. I miss Nate too much. I have to hurry. Or else my wardens will think I'm doing something suspicious." "Well you kinda are." "Technicalities. Again, thank you." He knealed down and gave me a hug. "When you get back to the States, tell Hale I said hi." "I will. I promise." We parted ways and I slid the envelope into my purse. I would buy my ticket tomorrow. For now, I had to survive today. I walked through the supermarket and grabbed what I needed. On the way out, I converted the money into pounds. I quickly ran back so Laura and James wouldn't be mad. They weren't in the house and I was greatful for it. I ran to the cupboard and hid the money in the secret compartment. I closed the hatch and went to organize the groceries. Laura and James came home after nine o'clock. "Hurry and make appetizers. We're having guests over." Laura ordered. I grabbed what I needed and made the snacks for the party they were having. After I finished, they ordered me back to the cupboard. I ran and shut the door behind me. I locked the lock and relaxed. I had a few hours to myself. I grabbed the items in the secret cubby and went into the compartment. I turned on the lightbulb hanging from the ceiling and shut the door. I opened my suitcase and slipped the box into the pocket inside the cover. I ripped the plans up and set the pieces on the floor. Over the next four days, I would gradually hide my stuff outside so I could grab it when I left on the 28th. And if everything went according to plan, I would be home for Nate's birthday on the 1st. I pulled out my phone and texted Amber.

Me: Hey, have you come up with a way for me to suprise Nate?

Amber: In fact I have. Morgan is throwing a birthday party for him on the first. We weren't invited, but Myka came up with an idea.

Me: Leave it to Myka to come up with a plan.

Amber: So we were planning to go to his house and say we have a present for him. We were also planning on having Morgan in on this.

Me: Good idea.

Amber: Thanks, that was my idea. Anyway, you'll be in a box and we'll give him the box. And then you'll pop out and surprise him.

Me: I love it! I can't wait. Four more days!

Amber: !!

Me: I'll talk Morgan. Thank you for the help!

I pressed Morgan's name and waited for her to answer.

Morgan's POV

My phone buzzed while I was sitting at my desk. I smiled when I saw Charlotte's name. "Hey Char!" "Keep it down. You can't let Nate know I'm calling." "Ok. Why?" "This is just between me, you and the Scene." "Alright. What's going on?" "We recently raised enough money for me to buy a ticket to LA." "Really? You're coming home?" "I am. But Nate can't know. I'm getting on a plane on the 28th. And I want to surprise him." "Alright! How can I help?" "The Scene already came up with a plan and we need your help to execute it." She then went on to explain the plan to me and my role. "I think I can do that. I can't imagine what his reaction will be." "I know. I can't wait! I'll be there soon. See you on the first." We hung up and I set my phone down. I walked downstairs and saw Nate sitting on the couch. It took all my being not to tell him about Charlotte. "Hey Morgan. What'ya doing?" he asked. "Nothin. Just coming down to see you. He smiled and pulled me close to him. "It's almost my birthday. Do you have a present picked out yet?" "Yes I do. But you'll have to wait to see it." He smiled. "That is the point. It must be exciting. You're super gidy about it." "You'll see soon. I promise." I kissed him and snuggled close. He couldn't see it, but my smile was huge. It seriously killed me to not say anything.
