Three days until departure

Charlotte's POV

I had three days left to prepare. I would gradually take some luggage out to the bushes out front so that when I left the night of the 27th, I could grab my luggage and go. We didn't live too far from London City Airport. I could easily walk and be there by midnight. There, I could buy a ticket and wait there until departure. Now to wait. I was still the maid. I could keep myself busy. Soon I would be away from this hell and safely in Nate's arms. Luckly for me, Laura kept me busy. James' parents and Grandma Larson were both coming into town on the 26th. Which meant I would have the perfect opportunity to leave without anyone noticing while I cleaned up after their long nights of talking. "Charlotte make sure this house is spotless! Or else you don't eat for a week!" James ordered as he put a dirty glass in the sink. "Yes sir." Laura then rushed downstairs. "James, they're coming into town today." I hurried to clean as she said that. "You hear? Hurry up!" He might as well be using a whip on me. I finished cleaning the kitchen just as Grandma Larson knocked on the door. James pushed me away and I slinked off. I felt so abandoned when I was ordered to leave the room. Nate would allow me to meet our guest before he said whether or not to leave the room. I locked the door and fell asleep. I had nothing to do. Sleep welcomed me like a friend. I set an alarm and slipped my earbuds in. Nate's song Salvaged blasted through the tiny speakers. It soothed me and lulled me to sleep.

Dream

I walked through the quiet streets of LA. I knew this was a dream. LA was never this quiet. I walked though my neighborhood and down to the school. I smiled when I saw Lyanna and Kile sitting together on the brick wall outside the school. I ran up to them. "Hi guys!" "Who are you? Should we know you?" Kile asked. "Guys, it's me. Charlotte." "We don't know anyone named Charlotte. Sorry. You must have though we were someone else." I backed away from them and ran home. Nate would know who I am. I'm his daughter. I ran to the front door and turned the doorknob. It was for some reason locked. I knocked on the front door and Nate was standing on the other side. "Hi, can I help you?" I slowly started to walk away. "No. Wrong house. I'm sorry for bothering you." I ran down the street and back into the crowded city. No one knew who I was. What was this world? No one knows who I am. I collapsed on the grass and cried.

End

I bolted awake at the sound of my alarm. I was able to not hit my head on the shelf again. It was almost midnight. I slipped into the secret compartment and grabbed my smaller bag. I was planning on taking my suitcase out tomorrow night and the guitar the night I leave the house. I snuck out the door and stuck the bag under the bush. No one goes out into them. I'm the only one who takes care of the garden. I walked back inside and cleaned up the messy house. Soon, this wouldn't be my job. After I finished, I went on my phone and recieved a text from Morgan.

Morgan: What are you planning on wearing for the surprise?

Me: How about the white dress in my closet?

Morgan: Perfect! Thank you!

By the time I was done with everything, I was ready to collapse. I had been pushed to my limit and was done. Luckly, James and Laura were going out with my grandparents for breakfast which gave me a break. I took one last look at the house to see if I missed anything. Everything was in its place. I went into the cupboard and set an alarm on my phone. I also turned on my music. Hurricane by Panic! At The Disco started playing through my earbuds. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out like a light.
