Nicholas' P.O.V
My name is Nicholas Grey. The school's most feared nerd. Well I never came here people already fearing me. I was bullied for the first few months I came just like any nerd would be bullied. I did homework for the 'popular' kids around and didn't complain at all. They called me the coward one because the other nerds complained when they were given work. Tables changed and now am the not coward one.
The bell rings sending everyone to the lunch hall. I was starving and I couldn't wait to have lunch. After being served first as usual, I went to my table at the corner. I never had a squad or anything of the sort. Apparently I found that lame. Most groups had this leader who by the way was the weakest one among them and he or she got protection from the puppets.
As I was busy nibbling on the last piece of pizza on my tray, some pretty girl came to sit at my table. She had long black brownish hair that went past her shoulders. Her eyes had the same color as her hair and she had the cutest smile which showed a small gap between her incisors.
Everyone in the hall expected me to chase her or beat her up. Well I wasn't a bully to people who have done absolutely nothing to me. Especially pretty girls who were new-comers. Don't get me wrong. I don't have and I have never had any feelings for a girl in my life. Though I do see them pretty and all, I don't think am the type to fall in love or something that is love related. At least not for now.
I started messing with my phone since I had about half an hour to my next class. I was busy playing Subway Surfers (which is actually my favorite game) when the pretty girl tapped my foot with hers.
"Hi, my name is Lynn Gates and am new to this school. Am in twelfth grade just so you know." She said while extending her hand to me. I didn't want to be rude and so I just shook her hand and continued playing my game. After a while, I felt someone's warm fingers on my knuckles. I immediately looked up to see that it was Lynn. Now I was getting irritated. Her being able to sit at my table didn't mean that I must talk to her or anything of the sort.
"You didn't tell me your name." She said politely.
"Because I didn't want to." I replied rather rudely.
"Please tell me your name. Nothing else I promise." She asked as if my name was gold or something precious.
"Fine. My name is......" The bell rang not giving me a chance to finish my statement. I had my favorite lesson next which was Pre-Calculus. I left without saying a word.
Lynn's P.O.V
The hot boy just left without saying anything at all. I didn't blame him though. Why would he pay attention to an ordinary girl anyway. He seemed popular because everyone parted away like the red sea when he passed. It looked really awkward especially since he was clearly a nerd. With his thick black rimmed geek glasses and saying words that barely made a paragraph.
So far I liked the school. It had cream painted walls with some stripped pattern in some buildings and polka dotted pattern in others. The receptionist said told me that all senior classes were in the polka dotted buildings while junior classes had the stripped buildings. That made it really easy for me to get to my class in less than ten minutes which was a record by the way.
I knocked the door and in a few minutes the teacher came and opened it. He was really tall for my height (5'8"). He had grey eyes and had his hair combed to the side. From my estimation, he was probably twenty five years. "Hello Miss Gates. Welcome to Pre-Calculus. Please sit at the back corner. It is the only seat available." He said as he ushered me in with his hand.
Once I got seated is when I realized that the seat next to me was occupied by none other than the hot boy from the lunch hall. His hair was somehow brunette though it seemed that it was dyed from blonde. It was curled neatly at the front giving a clear view of his icy blue eyes. He had a flawless skin clear from stubble.
In my former school I was referred to as a nerd but I wasn't good at all subjects including this one. I tried to make my mind return back to class at least to show that I was getting something in my head but it was clear that I wasn't understanding anything. Good thing was that I scored A's in most of the other subjects.
The bell finally rang and no lie I was relieved. I started packing my things hastily so that I would talk to the hot boy for a few minutes. Accidentally I dropped one of my pencils close to the hot boy. I was mentally doing a victory dance because I was sure that he would pick it at the same time I would (you know the cliché stuff). Jokes on me. He just looked at the pencil then at me and continued packing his books.
Once I picked up my poor pencil and finished packing my books, I made I mental note not to talk to him again. As I was about to leave the nearly empty class which had the teacher, rude boy and I, the teacher (who was apparently called Mr.Gibson) called me.
"Just one look at you and I could tell you didn't understand anything, did you?"
"I didn't but once I read through it again am sure I will get it right." I said while assuring myself that I would.
"I think that you would need some help with that and Mr.Grey here being my good student would help, right Nicholas? He asked while referring to the ex hot boy and current rude boy.
"Sure I would. We will agree on the time." He said after heaving a heavy sigh.
"That would be great. See you tomorrow. Have a great evening." Mr.Gibson said as he left.
"Meet me tomorrow at the school's library immediately after class." The so called Nicholas said as he headed to the door."
" I am busy tomorrow at that time. I have another class which might end a little bit late." I said while chewing on my longest nail. I didn't want tutoring. I wanted him to give up on this and maybe that was a good start or maybe not.
"You are so bad at lying. All the students in this class have the same timetable everyday. If you checked your timetable you would notice that. Anyway, you need this more than I do so I won't force you." He said and left me standing alone in the now dark room.
Maybe he would be less rude tomorrow. Maybe.
