Lynn's P.O.V
The week had gone so far fast I didn't realize it was already Friday. This time round Nicholas came over and tutored me at my home. Ever since he snapped at me and asked for forgiveness, he has been awfully nice. Well not perfectly nice to the extent he would say hi when we meet in school but he was rarely rude to me which was a good thing.
"That's it for today." He said after finishing the last sum. To say the truth, I have seen an improvement in this subject ever since he started tutoring me. I guess he is a good teacher considering the fact that I never liked it at all.
"Okay I'll see you to the door." And I quickly stood up. Unlike in his house where he tutored me in his room, I decided to sit in the dining room since my room was a mess. I really enjoyed today since my mom was around to make some brownies. Having a sweet tooth, I ate most of them and Nicholas just watched me in silence.
Once at the door, he opened it and left. I didn't expect anything different. He never said goodbye when he left and never said hi when we met. Hardly had a minute passed when his face emerged from the door.
"Do you mind if I take you to the coffee house for a cup or two?" He asked looking somehow pale but his expression was the same. Unreadable, blank and with no life at all.
"Its fine with me. Let me get my jacket." I told him truly shocked by his offer. Even if I wanted him to be polite, I never expected this much from him. I quickly ran upstairs and changed my sleeveless dress to a pair of black skinny jeans and a ruffled white top. I wore a pair of black ankle boots since the weather outside was a bit chilly. After slipping on my blue trench coat and letting my mum know I was gone, I went out to meet him.
Even though he owned a motorcycle which I saw parked outside his house, he didn't like moving with it. I guess he gets his fit body from walking instead of riding. We walked in silence and I didn't know if I should start up a conversation or not.
The setting sun left the sky in a beautiful orange-reddish color. We were now close to the coffee house with barely a word being said from either of us. Looking at his face, I could tell he was thinking about something but him being the unreadable, I couldn't tell what it was.
"So would you like to be my friend?" He asked after placing our order. We arrived and sat at the corner I was last time. After reading the menu, he ordered a cup of hot chocolate while I took some iced mocha.
I was speechless and didn't know what to answer. Me being friends with a hot nerd who apparently is the biggest bully in school? That was really hard. He wasn't bad he was just too silent and lost in a world I wasn't sure I would fit in. He was the brave I was the coward he was the good-looking and I was the not so pretty type. He held three big labels in school; hot, nerd and bully and I was just an average girl.
Nicholas' P.O.V
She seemed to be battling with herself. Maybe I wasn't that appealing to her. I should have thought about this carefully. Too late damage was already done I just had to wait for the out-come.
"Yes." She blurted out and exhaled heavily. Does it take girls this long to decide on simple things or what? Anyway I got a yes for the first time in my life. I don't know if I should be ecstatic at the fact that she was my first friend in that school (that I have been in since kindergarten just so you know).
"I have never had friend so you have to tell me what am supposed to do okay?" I told her. Her eyes sparkled with excitement and I got this weird feeling she would invite me to a tea party and then pretend I am her prince and she would marry me like in movies. I shuddered at the thought and quickly shook my head.
"Having a friend is really simple. You just need to show them that you care." She said with a smile on her face.
"So does that mean I need to get you flowers every time we meet?" I asked and she burst into a fit of laughter. I didn't understand why she laughed but I didn't question her either.
"Buying flowers isn't the only way one can show that they care. You should probably say hi to me when we meet, say bye when we depart, have a movie night or just a day to have fun, maybe call to know if I'm okay when you don't see me in school and most importantly hold conversations about anything. You don't have to do all these though."
"I'll try. We should probably exchange numbers." I tried to be as confident as possible even though I was as nervous as hell. After exchanging numbers, we had our snacks and I walked her home. This time round we talked and I learned that she was a pretty awesome person.
"So this is what it feels like to have a friend."
