-Giovanna's POV-

I was trembling with fear as the person in the shadows of the staircase slowly made their way down. I gasped once I realized who it was.

"Hello, Charles," My brother greeted coldly as he began to circle around the now-shaking Charles, "What a surprise to see you again!"

"I...I thought you left!" He cried, trying to follow Toby who was loading a gun in his hands as he continue to circle him. There was this look on Toby's face I'd never seen before. His brows were furrowed and there were dark shadows under his eyes. I almost didn't recognize him.

"I did. But I came back when my mom was dying," He replied calmly before putting the gun up to Charles' head. Shane and I stumbled back, scared ourselves, "But I bet you don't care because you never do..."

"T-T-Toby?" Charles stuttered nervously as a bead of sweat rolled down his face, "P-p-p-please put the gun down."

"Why?" Toby grinned evilly, "I'm getting my revenge, you asshole. You've done enough to this family." And with that, Toby pulled the trigger, I shrieked and buried my face into Shane's chest, and Charles fell to the floor with a thud.

Toby dropped the gun to the floor and spat at him. I looked at my brother in shock. He just stared at me, saying nothing.

He scratched behind his head and murmured, "No one hurts my dog. And no one even dares to kill my sister."

"Toby," I detached myself from Shane and slowly made my way over to him, "I..."

But before I could continue, he pulled me into a hug and whispered into my ear, "I'm going away. Don't come looking for me and don't worry about me." He kissed my on the cheek before running back up the stairs.

I ran up to the bottom of the stairs and wished for Toby to return. When I realized he meant what he meant, I turned around to Shane, who was just standing there staring at Charles' dead body. He looked up at me and asked, "Now what do we do?"

-Marzia's POV-

It's been a few days since the whole fiasco at the ball, which had to be rescheduled yet again. I haven't seen, nor talked to Felix since our huge blowout. In fact, none of the guys seemed to be in the house except Shane. And he only came out with Giovanna to clean.

I found the two of them cleaning Theresa's kitchen. I walked in and cleared my throat, hoping to get their attention. Their laughter came to a sudden stop and they both glanced over at me.

Giovanna set her rag down in the sudsy solution on the granite counter-tops and smirked, "Can I help you, Marzia?"

I crossed my hands over my growing bump and took in a quick breath, "I was wondering if you and Shane could take me to see Joey in the hospital. I can't find Toby anywhere, and the girls are busy with something."

Giovanna looked over at Shane and he nodded his head, "Yeah..." He replied with a smile, "We'd be happy to."

I beamed with joy, "Great! I just need to get a few things before we leave."

I rushed up the stairs and into my bedroom, where I pulled a few things out of my dresser. I shoved them in my purse before turning around and jumping to see Mari standing in the doorway, her arms crossed over her chest as she leaned up against the threshold.

"What are you doing, Mari?" I inquired, catching my breath.

"So, you're going to see Joey, huh?" She remarked, walking into my bedroom, "I don't see why you didn't tell Pewds from the beginning, Marzia. You knew you didn't like being with him."

I frowned, "Yes, I know, Mari. It's just...he's such a sensitive guy and I knew if I told him about this," I pointed down to my stomach, "He would do what he did a few days ago."

"So you decided to stall?" She inquired.

"I wouldn't say I stalled..."

She heaved a sigh, "I just hope you know that things aren't going to be the same from here on out, Marzia." I nodded my head in understanding, "And I'm only saying this because we're family. You know that, right?" I nodded my head again, "Good, now, when you see him, tell him I hope he's feeling better."

I shot her a quick smile before walking past her and meeting up with Giovanna and Shane in the foyer. They were arguing playfully over something before they noticed me and got all quiet. I walked through them suspiciously and got in the car.

We walked in the hospital and were directed to the room where Joey was. The door was closed and Anthony and Ian were standing outside. Giovanna rushed up to Anthony and was pulled into a hug.

I walked up to Ian and asked, "How's he doing?"

"Let's just say Pewdiepie did a pretty good job of beating him up," He replied shakily, "His skull is fractured, a good number of his ribs are broken, and..."

I pushed him to the side and put my hands up to the small window the door had and looked inside, not wanting to hear anymore. I didn't even realize it was Joey at first - it was like the movies, he was in an entire body cast. I wanted to cry. And I did.

Ian put his hand around my back in a comforting gesture, "Don't worry, Marzia. He's going to be okay."

"But what if he's not!?!" I cried, covering my face with my hands, "I should've never dated Felix in the first place!"
