-Anthony's POV-

I was sitting out on the balcony, even though it was storming outside. The balcony was covered, so at least I wasn't getting completely soaked.

In my hands, I held the ring I had gotten for Giovanna in my hands. I found after Toby threw it away, even days after it happened. She and I were on a "break" as we agreed to call it. It didn't matter though, I'd already blown my chance with her, many times before. I threw the ring over the edge of the balcony and leaned back.

I heard the door behind me creak a little, but I just assumed it was the wind. Until I saw Kalel slowly make her way to the seat next to me. I turned my head ever so slightly to see her looking at me.

"I heard you and Giovanna broke up," She stated, pushing the hair out of her face.

"I heard Toby left," I replied.

She heaved a sigh, "What has become of this family?" She asked. I didn't even get a chance to answer (not that I had an answer to give), and she continued, "You know, Charles may have favored me, but I hated him too." She glanced over at me.

"He was a real dickhead," I retorted, not making eye contact with her.

She smiled, "You know, ever since you came here, I've been different." I gave her a perplexed look. She giggled, "I don't know if it's because I'm trying to get your attention or what, but..." She blushed, "I always kind of have liked you. And...I don't really regret sleeping with you." Kalel went silent. As did I. The only sound was the pitter-patter of the rain and occasional boom of thunder, "Do you regret sleeping with me? And Giovanna's not here, so you don't have to lie."

I sighed, "I wasn't lying before. Kalel, I love Giovanna. And even though we're not on good terms right now, I never want to hurt her again." She frowned, "I mean, it was great, don't get me wrong but...Giovanna...she's more than just a maid. And...I want to show her that."

Kalel stood up, "Well she's nothing but a maid, Anthony. Get that through your thick skull," And with that she walked away.

I sat there, in the rain, in the storm, thinking about what Kalel just told me. And that's when I remembered the fling Kalel and I had. And...I wanted it again. I tried my best to fight the urge, but, soon enough I jumped to my feet and ran after her. I grabbed her hand, turned her towards me and pressed my lips against hers. She pulled out the kiss and whispered, "What are you doing?"

"Fuck it. Giovanna's nothing but a maid, right?" I replied, out of breath, "So why waste my time on her, when I've got you?"

She smiled before pulling me into another passionate kiss.

-Giovanna's POV-

I pushed Ian away from me, "Uh...Ian, I wasn't talking about me when I said there's someone out there for you." He shook his head and took a step closer to me. I put my hands out in defense, but it did nothing, "I'm just a maid, Ian! You can get any girl you want! Literally any girl!"

"What if the girl I want is a maid?" He said, leaning in. I slipped under his arm and held out the plunger I had pulled out of the closet.

"Ian, I get you're upset, but..."

"But what? Giovanna, I lost my best friend. The only one I thought knew what I was going through. But you know what I'm going through too. You've been bullied, you've hurt yourself, you've been hurt."

"But that doesn't mean that we should be together!" I tried to explain to him, but he was too depressed to think any different.

"Please, Giovanna, let me make you happy. Let me do what Anthony couldn't." He leaned in again but I dodged left and turned around, holding out the plunger again.

"Giovanna?" Shane's voice sounded from behind Ian, "What's going on?"

I heaved a sigh chuckled, "Nothing. Ian was just telling me that, uh...that his toilet was clogged and I needed to fix it."

Shane looked at me in disbelief, but eventually nodded his head in understanding. "You go do that... I'm going to show Meghan around the rest of the house." He announced as he walked past me with Meghan following him close behind.

Ian and I stood there for the longest time, in silence, not saying a word to each other. I cleared my throat and picked up the sheets I dropped to the floor, "Would you like to stay with me while I prepare Meghan's room?" I inquired.

"Only if you want..." He replied sheepishly.

I smiled and nodded my head towards her room, "Come on, I'll show you how to make a bed." He groaned in detest, which only made me laugh.

Minutes after minutes of pointless conversation went by, and when I was done, I turned around, only to see Ian was standing not an inch away from me.

"What are you doing?" I asked before he pulled me into a kiss. I tried to pull away, but he tightly held me close to him. I resisted and resisted, but my efforts were futile. And worst came to worst, I heard a gasp come from the doorway. The two of us pulled out of the kiss and I saw Mari, her hands covering her mouth and her eyes tearing up.

"Mari! Wait! It wasn't what it..." I cried, as she rushed away. I ran out in the hallway to catch her, but she was already too far away, "...looked like." Ian walked up to my side as I finished my sentence. I glanced over at him, "Do you know why she was upset?"

He slipped his hands into his pockets, "Mari might've told me she liked me..." My eyes widnened, "Once or twice maybe..." My jaw dropped this time, "Okay, she's told me a lot of times."

"And you kissed me? Why didn't you just go to her!?!" I yelled at him.

"Because...Because I don't like her back?" He answered shakily. I smacked my forehead - what have I done?
