-Anthony's POV-
I couldn't believe who was standing in front of me. Dan. Dan Howell. Someone I hadn't seen since I moved here. "What are you doing here?" I asked him.
"I'm moving in," He answered, almost as confused as I was, "What about you?"
"I live here," I replied.
"You two know each other?" Giovanna butted in.
"He was one of my friends before I came here," I answered her, "He and I helped each other out," I added.
"Yeah," Dan agreed, slipping his hands into his pant pockets, "Helping each other out...speaking that, what happened, Anthony?" He asked me, "I thought we 'helped each other out'."
"We did."
"Then why the hell would you leave me all alone?" Dan yelled at me. I saw the confusion in Giovanna's face. And I could see that anger in Dan's, "I came back that to find that you weren't there, Anthony. What the hell, man!?!"
"The government took my away!" I shouted back at him, "I wouldn't have left you if it wasn't for them finding me and taking me away!"
He was about to yell something else at me when Giovanna got in the way of us. "Hey! Hey!" She screamed, holding her hands out to keep us apart from attacking each other, "There's no need to argue about this here. In the foyer. With everyone watching you." I hadn't noticed it until she said it, but Dan and I had attracted a crowd.
Dan glared at me before storming away into the ballroom. I scratched behind my neck as everyone dispersed and returned to their normal activities. Giovanna stayed by my side, though she looked everywhere but me.
"I can explain, Giovanna..." I tried to tell her.
"Explain to me what, Anthony?" She retorted, glancing over at me, "There's nothing you need to explain to me."
Silence resided between us before I blurted out, "Look, Giovanna, I've fucked up countless times before. Before I came here, while I was here, and before...before I'm going to leave."
She slowly looked up at me, "You're leaving?"
"Soon," I disclosed, "I was hoping tonight."
She gasped, "Why would you do such a thing?"
"Ever since I've arrived here, all I've been is trouble," I responded.
"That's not true," She tried to convince me, "Anthony, I can't thank you enough for what you've done for me." I looked down at her and saw tears had started to form in her brown eyes, "If it weren't for you, I'm not so sure that I'd be standing here, in the middle of a gala, not having to work. And I don't think I would've ever kissed someone." She looked up at me and slightly smiled, "I don't think I would've ever fallen in love like I have with you."
The two of us just looked at each other before she pressed her soft lips against mine. I kissed her back as I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her close to me. And never wanting to let her go.
"Come with me," I demanded, pulling out of the kiss and gently grabbing her hands to hold them in mine, "We can do what I planned all along. We can run away together. Be happy together. Nothing getting in our way."
She shook her head no, "I can't, Anthony. Though they are many things you've done to change my life for the better, there are also many things you've done that changed my life for the worse. I'm not sure I can forgive you for that..."
"Please, Giovanna," I begged, "You're the only person I know who doesn't hate me."
Still no.
"Giovanna, I don't know how many times I can say I'm sorry before you start to even think about giving me another chance, but please. You make me a better person. You're the one I think about at night. You're the one I want to wake up next to every morning. Please...please come with me. We can leave tonight. Right here. Right now."
She sighed, "Anthony..."
Just then, someone burst through the front door. He wore a tuxedo and his hair was flattened down by the rain that had started to fall from the sky. "WHERE IS MEGHAN!?!" He shouted, a mad look in his eyes.
-Ian's POV-
I followed Mari into the crowd of people in the ballroom. I lost sight of her and sighed, "Mari! I love you!" I shouted at the top of my lungs.
Everyone seemed to stop their dancing and their chatter. The crowd separated to reveal Mari, facing away from me as she tried to escape.
"You should've been the one I went to when I needed someone to talk to and to hang out with," I began, "You're the one that I love. And I'm sorry I didn't realize it before."
She slowly looked back at me.
"I was an idiot to ignore you, Mari," I told her, "And I hope you find it in your heart to..." She rushed over to me and jumped into my arms. I spun her around before placing her on the ground and pulling her into a kiss.
"I forgive you," She remarked softly, looking into my eyes and smiling.
I was going to kiss her again when I heard the front doors swing open and someone scream, "WHERE IS MEGHAN!?!"
-Meghan's POV-
I stared at Felix, waiting for his reaction to the news I just told him. He just gave me blank look. That's when I heard the three words I feared the most: "WHERE IS MEGHAN!?!"
I glanced over my shoulder as I stepped closer to him, resting my head on his chest, "Don't let him find me," I whispered.
He held me close, rested his chin on my head, but said nothing.
I heard it again, this time louder than the first, "WHERE IS MEGHAN!?!"
"I...I don't know!" I heard Theresa cry.
"TELL ME WHERE SHE IS RIGHT NOW!" My boyfriend ordered from downstairs, "OR SOMEONE'S GOING TO GET HURT!"
I closed my eyes as a tear rolled down my cheek. I was shaking in fear.
"ANYONE GOING TO TELL ME WHERE SHE IS?" I heard him ask.
I felt Felix kiss me on the forehead before stepping away from me. I opened my eyes to see him rush out of the room.
"No! Felix!" I cried as I caught up with him. I grabbed him by his jacket sleeve and stopped him, "Please. Don't hurt him," I pleaded quietly.
"No one threatens to hurt my family," He growled, "And no one is going to take you away from me." With that, he jerked his arm out of my hold and ran downstairs. "You want Meghan?" I heard him question, "You're going to have to go through me first."
