It was the first day of kindergarten for Tyrone. Tyrone's mom was rushing to get him to school on time.

"Honey, are you wearing the clothes that I bought you?" his mom asked him.

"No." he answered.

"Why not?" she said.

"They don't show off my amazing qualities!" Tyrone stated.

"Tyrone!" she yelled.

"What?" Tyrone asked.

"Never mind!" Tyrone's mom rolled her eyes. She looked at her watch, "You see, Tyrone! It's 8:05! You're late, which means I am, too!"

"It's not my fault!" Tyrone said, "You drive slow!"

Tyrone's mother pulled into the school parking lot, "You give me such a hard time, you know."

"I know," Tyrone said.

Tyrone's mom parked the car and looked at him, "What did you pack for lunch today?" she questioned.

"Pickles!" Tyrone said happily.

Tyrone got out of the car with lots of confidence. He walked into the school doors and ran up the stairs. Tyrone stepped in the kindergarten classroom, and his teacher, Miss Cary, said, "TYRONE!"

"What?"

"You're five minutes late!" Miss Cary had her hands on her hips. She looked very angry at Tyrone.

"Alright, alright, settle down," Tyrone said, seating himself next to a very pretty yellow hippopotamus. She was writing the alphabet in her notebook.

"What's your name?" Tyrone asked her.

She said, "Sorry, I like bad boys."

"I am a bad boy." Tyrone said.

The room was silent.

"My names Tyrone!" Tyrone said very loud.

"I'm Tasha." she said.

The conversation got very awkward. Tyrone wanted Tasha to like him so he took out his lunch box and placed it on his desk. He took his pickles and shoved them up his nose.

Tyrone could tell that Tasha couldn't resist laughing. Tasha looked at Tyrone. She began cracking up and said to him, "You're too funny!"

"I know," Tyrone answered. He could feel himself blushing.

"Ok everyone, take out your notebooks." Miss Cary said.

And the first day of kindergarten began.
