Ashley POV

Today was the first day that I would go to school with my new appearance. Rachel made me get up extra early so we could get to work on me.

I straightened my hair and applied some lipstick and mascara. Rachel tried to put some eyeliner on me but I wouldn't let her.

I pulled on a maroon colored long sleeve sweater and a black skirt with a gray scarf around my neck.

Rachel forces me into some gray heeled booties. They hurt like hell. How do girls walk around in this stuff?

I hear my window opening and I roll my eyes because I know it's Hunter. "Alright sweetheart, let's see it!"

I breathe out a sigh of annoyance and turn around to face him. He lets out a low whistle. "Lookin' good, sweetheart."

"Your pickup lines don't work on me, big guy," I say rolling me eyes.

"Really?" he smirks. "Challenge accepted. I vow to use as many pick up lines on you as I can."

"Are you serious?" I ask and he nods. "You're such an idiot."

He pauses for a second then smirks up at me. "Hey, sweetheart," he says. "Your body is about 60% made up of water and I'm thirsty."

"Ew, you're such a perv," Rachel says beside me and I laugh. I'll admit, that one was funny.

"You're not funny," I state.

Lies.

"Now, now little Ash, that's not the right attitude I expect from you today," he smirks.

"Whatever," I say as I walk towards my bedroom door with Rachel in tow.

"See ya at school, sweetheart!" Hunter calls after me with a chuckle.

I frown as I see Hunter leaning against a car talking to Patrick, Alec, and Dean. How did he get here before us? We left before him.

He spots me and Rachel and smirks and waves us over. Nervously I look left and right and then sprint across the parking lot. When I finally reach the boys Hunter is howling with laughter.

"You looked ridiculous running while crouched over!" He says between laughs.

"I didn't anybody to see me!" I hissed.

"You do realize people are eventually going to see you, right?"

I roll my eyes. Of course, I knew. I just wanted to prolong that.

"Sweetheart," he says and I lift an eyebrow. "You must be an earring because you're quite a stud."

"Ha. Ha. Very funny," I say. Please note the sarcasm.

He slings an arm over my shoulder and directs me towards the school doors.

"I'm so going to regret this," I say as he chuckles.

He pushes open the doors and everyone in the hallway stops and stares. At first, it was a reaction to Hunter walking but then they started to notice me.

"Who's that Hunter's walking with?"

"I thought Hunter was dating that other girl?"

"Wow, she's really pretty."

"After Hunter, I call dibs guys."

"Hunter," I hiss. "They're whispering."

He shrugs. "They're always whispering when I'm around."
